Does anyone know if Holy Records is dead and gone or planning some comeback, or anything.

http://holyrecords.com/

It is a shame, all those awesome titles they sit on and would really be nice on vinyl reissues. Stuff like Tristitia, Nightfall, Septic Flesh, Elend, Legenda.
Also did anybody ever try to license stuff from them for re-issuing?

They just released Orphaned Land Sahara on DLP so I've seen, the price for gold version (30) is a bit ridiculous, especially when the splatter and black edition are 10 less.
I tried in the past (like 4 years ago) to licence vinyl titles from them, they were ok and told me they would send a contract, but that still haven't happened and will not since I basically dropped it.

Haven't been to the Holy records website in ages but I don't understand why it still exists since Holy Records is basically this now:
http://www.emp-online.fr/

edit:
well just been to holy records, it says "in maintenance, go to emp"

It sucks, all that fine music may never get vinyl treatment. What is it with some labels?

I had read in a Septic Flesh interview from a year ago that Holy was going to re-issue their back catalog. Hope this comes to fruition. SOON.

They did re-issue some of the past SEPTICFLESH titles - including their first MLP which was initially put out through another imprint - few years back but in digipack only. Damn would love to see 'Mystic Places Of Dawn' getting the vinyl treatment but I'm kinda doubtful this would happen yo SUP though as they've never made it outside of France... Sad

BTW, how is the sound on that old SEPTIC FLESH "Mystic Places..." PIC LP released by Holy many years ago? I'm thinking of getting of this one.

Well seeing that Septic Flesh seems to be a big seller nowadays, I guess this could happen through Holy/EMP, logically. I mean they just released Orphaned Land on DLP, I guess Septic Flesh would sell much more (but maybe there are rights issues at the moment, don't know). A bit weird to see the old Septic Flesh cds going for sale at such a high price too (check discogs or ebay) and Holy doing nothing at the moment to get the cds available again (Mystic Places of dawn, Ophidian wheel, Esoptron).

You mean this?

True about SUP, this is a very good and interesting band with a strong personnality, they still deliver strong albums I think, Angelus & Hegemony are quite good in their genre. But as you point out , never made it out of France, really.
