That's pretty obvious. Ihsahn is a thoughtful, articulate writer.

Ihsahn is a thought, articulate writer that didn't write the lyrics to that song.

If memory serves me properly didn't Mortiis write all the early lyrics?

I am the Black Wizards might sound incorrect at first glance but the meaning is pretty clear when you read the lyrics, and the title is perfectly correct in that context

"I am the ruler and has been for eternity's long
My wizards are many, but their essence is
Mine
Forever there are in the hills in their stone homes of
Grief
Because I am the spirit of their existence
I am them. "

+1. It's obvious from the lyrics that the song title is correct. I too thought when I got the album that there is a mistake until I read the lyrics.

It was something along the lines of "plural of wizard" and along the lyrics of "My wizards are many, but their essence is mine".

Though it didn't make much sense what he tried to explain.

'Essence' is the key word I think. He is the master wizard and all the other wizards are derived from him. He is the source/origin of all the wizards and without him there would be no other wizards. Like a tree and its branches.

Mortiis wrote all the lyrics for pre-ITNE material. I am the Black Wizards was written (and released) while Mortiis was still in the band, and he's also credited for it on ITNE.

'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas' being one of the most obvious.

Still, Latin is flexible enought to change the inflective endings to suit a particular purpose and fill in context just with the change of a word. Then again, I doubt the 46,472 bands called something like Sathanas Infernus would do that.
