Thought I'd start a thread with general thoughts on this year's albums. Anyone else been the new Sniper a spin? Classic Sniper sound (if you have never heard them, think of Mistreat with some metal influence and you are sort of there). One of the better RAC albums of the year. I'd also have Blutlinie, Phonix, Sturmrebellen and H8Machine up there - not sure what to think of the new Heiliger Krieg yet. Needs a few more spins but seems a step down from the last album. H8Machine does the US toughguy metal HC sound on its release. Not something I listen to very often but this clicked with me albeit this sort of thing grows old fast. Phonix is a 'supergroup' of sorts (check Discogs for details) and put together a really solid rock styled album. Played this quite frequently too. Blutlinie is also a 'supergroup' (see Midgard for details) and also put together a really good metal/rock album. Sturmrebellen produces the classic RAC sound to me and does it really well.

Here's some links to some songs (doesn't seem new Sniper is on YT).

Blutlinie

Phonix

Sturmrebellen

Sturmrebellen

Phonix

H8Machine

Gave the Der Bohse Wolfe album a bit of airtime too - not bad.

New Sturmwehr has done nothing for me too - think Jens as sucked the well dry. BFG/Brainwash should arrive next week. Strange split, I don't like Brainwash but am looking forward to hearing the new BFG tracks. Hopefully they are better than the Death and Defiance material. Also have new Faust on way (think this will be a good album) and new Uberzeugungstater. Quiet year from the UK, think the Whitelaw was the only album I picked up. Even Oi! wise, there wasn't really anything (as opposed to 2015 with TMF, Baker's Dozen, IC1 (ok 25% UK)). Also looking forward to Code 291 in 2017 (new band including Joakim Pluton Svea/Pitbullfarm and Esa Volund Smed) - should be a ripper.

Vapaudenristi "Ikuinen kuolema" is the only that deserves to be even mentioned.

Forgot about that - haven't bought it but the songs I have heard are good.

Best place to get it?

Of course it's one of the best albums but there are plenty more like:
- erschie▀ungskommando "Sieg oder Tod"
- oberkommando "das feuer brennt"
- saarbrigade demo and 7"
- humungus "sans pitiÚ ni remords"

Also the compilation veriythys with vapaudenristi among others is top from beginning to end.

Not exactly rac but related:
- Brainwash/bound for glory split
- Leopold und das paddelbootorchester "s/t"
- Uberzeugungsstater "entscheidungstrager"

Yeah, I doubt anything will top "Ikuinen Kuolema" or the Veriyhteys comp. But Pagan Skull's "White Genocide" was damn good, and the tracks I heard from the Pylvanainen album lead me to believe it'd be worth a shot as well.

Not a new one, but Rock-O-Rama reissued Vengeance - Forward into War LP this year.

Second for Vapaudenristi LP.

Thought it would not be ROR given the label is defunct, though looks like someone is running it for reissues etc. Killer album though.

And whoever bought the rights keeps some things from the old catalogue. This year I bought from them the two White Noise CD's for the normal price.

Couldn't agree more. I really liked the live tapes as well.
