Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all! Hail Satan!

Hard choice between Oath and Drawing. I can't stand the "ambient" period of this band (or any BM band that delves too heavily into electronic territory for that matter).

The Oath Of Black Blood for being unhinged.

edit:Now going to play my Drawing Down The Moon lp right after I spun Oath. Fingers crossed I didn't just have a case of premature votilation. Wink

It's a bit darker and more thought out. Overall a more complete album but today I'm digging the chaotic recording of Oath.

Oath & Drawing are two faces of the same coin.

Really sad, sad, sad, that nothing, absolutly nothing, in BM's history to come will never top these two LPs.

"Messe des Morts" for me, so did not vote. "DDTM" was a huge disappointment after ingenious "TOOBB" (even if that is being considered as "compilation" these days, but how many ppl were aware about that back in the days?), I still cannot forget that "WTF?" feeling after listening to it after all the madness which "The Oath..." did deliver. Oh, of corpse, it's "the most daaark & occuuult" for unwashed metalloids... Laughing Did not dig into ambient era when was limiting myself with alcohol (that's ~25 y.o. in fact), but definitely changed opinion afterwards. Never tried listening to anything starting from "Engram", as the price-tag for that CD & especially tape were the clearest evidence of the reason for band reunion. I suppose musically it may be ok, but in my system of values no BM is being listened even on streaming samples basis if I do feel fishy motivation behind the record, especially when coming from some kvlt & influential band, yes. Cool

Definitely Drawing Down the Moon. The Oath of Black Blood has been more influential because DDTM is nearly impossible to recreate in an original manner, except for Ride For Revenge who have expanded that sound in a brilliant manner. Engram is awesome btw.
