OK, I'm a noob here, I don't know if this is a repost. If it is, delete it.

What's the best Greek Black Metal Album and why? I've added the option "other", if your fave is not in the list, just mention it at the comments.

I voted for Necromantia's Scarlet Evil Witching Black. It always gets me, the eerie vocals, the bass work of course, the elitistic, artistic and EVIL atmosphere, the cult artwork, the Heavy Metal background, the classical music influences... Some great Norwegian bands envied this masterpiece, but noone ever has managed to copy it.

Unique, powerful, evil, witching, BLACK. Pure Art. Elite.

Hellenic scene is so special and gifted and it's difficult to choose between all those classic albums..
I will add with ''thy mighty...'',Passage to Arcturo.Necro sound and one of the most darkest atmospheres ever created. Equal for me.
Split Necromantia/Varathron is the best b.m. split EVER.Your description for ''Scarlet evil...'' (wonderful by the way) fits for this record, for me personally.

Besides ''holy trinity'', there are many hidden gems(or not) like ''Onyx'',first Mournblade, first order of the ebon hand ,Zemial's Necrolatry/Face of .../For the glory...,first agatus...,first two Legion of Doom,Kawir debut...
Olympus for me ''Thy mighty...'' and all the first albums of the ''unholy trinity''.

Yes, the Hellenic scene is very rich and has many gems as you said. I had to add only the classics to the poll cause it wouldn't let me add more options.

There are sooo many albums I couldn't add

Ezgaroth - D.C.L.X.V.I: The Order
Kawir - Isotheos
Naer Mataron - River at Dash Scalding & Up from the Ashes
Legion of Doom - Kingdom Of Endless Darkness
Rotting Christ - Non Serviam
The One - Guardians Inhuman
Necromantia - Crossing the Fiery Path
Ravencult - Temples of Torment
Medieval Demon - Demonolatria
Thou Art Lord - Eosforos
Angstridden - Fuck Humanity With Pride

etc etc

Besides the classic ones, I think the Ezgaroth and "I, Master" are my favourite gems.

Voted for Varathron. But Crossing the Fiery Path and Thy Mighty Contract are just as good, depending on which day you ask me. So many essentials in this scene, it's really hard to choose.

and 'For Those Of The Blood'.

Top has to be Kawir 'Ophiolatreia'. Viscious and atmospheric.

For me it's a tough call between Thy Mighty Contract and Crossing the Firey Path.

Thy mighty contract

Rotting Christ are one of the best black metal bands around, probably second only to prime era Darkthrone imo.

Besides the obvious choices, NOCTERNITY "Onyx" is a masterpiece.
