I think this style is very popular amongst hipster kids. I bet it'll be cheaper in about 10 years when Witchcraft is just another forgotten band.

Dunno what its like in other cities' used record stores, but you can find that first Cap'n Beyond once in a while for about 15-20 bucks.

Does the reissue have any extra material?

Unfortunately, in 10 years another band which will copy/paste the old rock legends(or Witchcraft....)shall be the "new hype" and thus this circle will never close. Btw Witchcraft's singer old band(Norrsken)was very good!

The drummer from Captain Beyond went on to be in Armageddon with Keith Relf from the Yardbirds and 2 guys from Steamhammer, the LP is patchy but the track BUZZARD is amazing 'proto -metal'!

What I will say in Witchcraft's defence is that hopefully the trendy kids will leave them alone soon enough and move on and if they can keep going without the 'kids', then all the best to them.

To be honest I've never heard them and if they are trendy then I see no indication of it in my hometown. And if they are trendy then hopefully they'll introduce people to the likes of Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, Captain Beyond etc. Those that REALLY like what they're doing will stay with it and keep discovering more bands. The others won't dig so will either get bored or won't find out about other stuff anyway, so who cares?

Some people have accused Jex Thoth of being trendy too... who cares? I'll still listen to them personally... I see no indication of 'da kids' lapping it up. Perhaps its different in your respective areas.

Of course the "problem" isn't if the band is popular. The problem is that the sound of such bands loose the musicians personal touch and you can hear only the bands that inspired them in the first place.
