I have to travel 3 or 4 hours to see a good underground metal show here. I used to do it too....but now that Im 34 and have responsibilities its not that easy to do anymore. I would love to see more shows, but the band need to tour more in my area so its not such an ordeal to support.

Anhedonist did play here this summer and I attended.

I don't think there has been an actual underground black/death metal gig here, ever.

I missed so many shows just because I was too drugged out, fucked up, playing a show or involved with psycho drunk druggy chicks to remember. It doesn't bother me too much because I usually get bored at shows and hate to stand around like an idiot to be disappointed by some shitty band. On the other hand I just went to a good show and feel an interest in playing music and going to shows. Not that I have ever been to BD show are like the genre that much but I still think it applies and I think any music person goes through a time of rekindled interest... Plus it's always nice to meet babes and get drunk and high with your friends.

It's even better when you travel to a show (if you have money, but there's just too many great releases these days to actually have some spare). I traveled to see Revenge and Inquisition to Ljubljana and it was great to feel like a barbarian smoking cigarettes on the street and drinking beer - Slovenians are so civilized and clean! Unfortunately, that's also what makes the punters so meek: we couldn't make Revenge come back for an encore, for the rest of the crowd was too disinterested. No hipsters, though. On the other hand, I had to miss Necrodeath, because the day after, Death In June played in my hometown. Simply not enough money for two shows in a row.

Bastard!!!

...I'd suffer your woes anyday Razz

I'd go to more gigs here if they weren't so fucking expensive. A ticket for the recent Watain/Vader gig for example was 6900+500(drink)= 7400yen or $95.3614USD ...Brutal Truth/Lockdown was 6800+500...

$95.36 fucking dollars!

I think I'd still easily see 30 or 40 gigs a year, but Melbourne is pretty great for that. Its not hard to rack up if you consider x number of Local Metal/Hardcore shows, x number of noise/breakcore/dubstep shows, international touring bands that come here (either Metal or not) plus whatever we see when we are playing ourselves.

They should come to Belfast! At Trench Hell's first show we went backstage after to practically physically drag them on stage (chanting "one more song ye cunts!") for an encore. Of songs they had done already because they already had played everything they had rehearsed.

That's what happens when you get starved of really good underground shows for long enough.

They played Nashville as well. Great guys, although my buddy was drunk and kept trying to invite them to his house to hang out.

Many of you guys sounds like a christians. "I don't want to go to see the concerts because there will be some hipsters too" Fuck! Do you really care about the crowd, or you are too wimpy to make strong, metal crowd? Do you ever leave your home and walk into the street? In Poland we don't care who going to see the show, always we bang with same fury! Recently heard many stories about sissy germans who lament about their spilled 5EUR beer or such bullshit, are you belong to such poser legions?
