Every project of Dirtmaster and Kutcheck Gorealis that I've heard is fantastic - hideous obscurity, weirdness and totally unique approach!

They manage to generate such a fantastical atmosphere with perfect use of eerie keyboards, epic songs, rotten riffs and really effective lead guitar.

Is there anything with a similar strangeness out there? Can anyone upload some of the Legacies Unchain demos (which I've never had chance to hear)?

Legacies Unchain and Hail are pretty much the greatest.

Todessto▀ is on par with the weirdness, but might be a bit too "arty".

I assume you're familiar with Wormphlegm, then?

I'm a huge fan of those guys. Especially Hail, which is one of my ten or so favorite black metal albums. Have been eagerly anticipating the Legacies Unchain CD (from Promethean Burn) ever since it was announced.

I love Hail LP, but I never connected them to Legacies Unchain or Wormphlegm. I've had Legacies Unchain's demos sitting around waiting on me to listen to for a while, guess that's what I'll listen to this morning.

I like everything these guys have made ... such a unique feeling !!! I'd like to see Last Rites, Promethean Burn and others keep on releasing every stuffs Dirtmaster and Kutcheck Gorealis have recorded .. by the way Legacies Unchain full length, Testorage full length and 3rd Misantropical Painforest seems to be on their way out !!

I haven't dived into any of these except HAIL, but always heard good things. I think it's time.

Only familiar with Hail but they are indeed great! One of the best "modern" Black Metal albums without a doubt!

Great news... the TESTORAGE album is fucking funny.

Coincidentally I listened the Hail demo, mini and full length two days ago before seeing this thread. One of the most underrated band from Finland for sure. Most of the other Dirtmaster-related releases are excellent too.

Probably a good time to mention that I just got some of the last copies of both Misantropical Painforest CDs in stock:

http://vorfeed.net/basar/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=571 (Firm Grip...)
http://vorfeed.net/basar/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=572 (Winds Saturate...)

If you like any of the abovementioned bands (especially HAIL) you should check these guys out. Or cry about the band name for the fifty-seventh time. Or both.

I'm fucking crazy about Hail and Misantropical Painforest, but need to check the other related bands out. Any of the sloppiness, crudeness, weirdness or silly pun names just adds to the charm.
