cannot wait to have this release and listen the difference

It's clearer and has a better low end that the one floating around all of these years but it sounds like it's sourced from the one I have. Maybe yours is a lower gen. This sounds like it could have been remixed and cleaned a bit, so yeah, hopefully it will be good! Thanks for the sample! Wink

I have a copy that came with a 2" seam split on the top edge of the bottom half of the box. Otherwise new and mint. $100 plus shipping takes it

Always thought that Don from Nunslaughter made all those bootlegs. He sure sells them a lot on ebay.

Haha. Not that I want to defend any Greeks on here, but those bootlegs HHR sells are indeed also being sold on ebay. By someone from the same city as HHR
You're blind or atleast very naive if you want to deny Nunslaughter/HHR being the source of most of those bootlegs.

Greeks: bootleg rare records to sell them as originals on ebay.
HHR: will press any rehearsal or liverecording onto vinyl , no matter how bad the sound is.

HHR has a large local customer base, and Ebay items from the region (Cleveland, Medina, Akron, etc.) could be from just about anyone.

HHR has a lot of official releases planned very far in advance, aside from the numerous items that arrive daily to be stocked in the distro. There isn't time to fuck around making bootlegs, there's just too much else to do.

So who do you buy your bootlegs from if you don't produce them yourselves?

For a label that is really making a name for itself in the underground to take such a ridiculous chance by offering up bootlegs just doesn't make sense, especially when dealing with an artist of King Diamond's caliber. Maybe there was some John Lennon thing going on underneath where this is an authorized unauthorized deal and KD is in on it?

Invalid arguement. Why take a chance SELLING them? It's not like they sell one or two bootlegs. They are constantly selling bootlegs of all kinds of bands.

Can you name many labels that don't do this?? Besides the HUGE labels, almost every mailorder I can think of sells bootlegs.

If collectors didn't buy them, there would be no incentive to make and sell them.

And in my mind there's a difference between fanclub sort of releases like this and straight up counterfeit/replica stuff, which is more of a Greek specialty.

Is there any mailorder that sells more bootlegs than HHB?
Noticed that in some distros add bootlegs that we can find in HHB store in same day as HHB releases. Once even one of biggest polish distributor listed few of them as "released by HHB" Smile

I can't name many labels who sell the bootlegs they sell. They are always the first, and in many cases the only, source that sells them.
Besides that was not my point. You said they wouldn't dare producing bootlegs of those bands. Yet they dare selling them. And what ever happened to other 'big' underground labels bootlegging bands like Mercyful fate & Slayer? Hellion records is still in business. The only band I remember in recent history that went behind bootleggers is Bolt thrower with that BT/ND split bootleg. Do you have any idea how much it would cost for a Dane to sue an American label? Anybody who bootlegs King diamond & Mercyful fate is pretty safe imo. Hell, even Danes themselves bootleg Mercyful fate and they live in the same country.

When HHR names a valid source for these bootlegs I'll believe them. Untill then, it's all a load of rubbish to me. They, are someone very close to them, is behind them.

I've ordered from HHR multiple times, and I will continue to do so in the past. I'm not anti-bootleg. I'm anti money-grabbing bootlegs. The cheap kind with cheap covers and bad sound quality selling for $25 upon release. I just think it's damn naive to keep denying they are behind this. Ofcourse they have no other option...

So, if not HHR, who is behind this constant stream of bootlegs? Any reasonable answers?

Like half of the Sabbat discography on HMSS ?

Horror Records is also possible for all those King Diamond/Mercyful Fate bootlegs.

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe, just maybe KD is sanctioning this on the sly? He's supposedly pro-bootleg if it's not ripping off the fan. It's a long shot, but it might be plausible. HHB got Barnes' okay for the Leviathan LP.

For sure they got the okay to sell that bootleg, not to make that bootleg, because HHR wouldn't dare bring-out bootlegs right?

You think those are bootlegs for which Sabbat doesn't receive royalties?
