This album seems to have a strong like/dislike contrast. Admittedly, dispite the bad production, it's still an amazing album. |

No doubt everyone likes to discuss how they cut their fucking hair like a group of girls, or how they are unable to open packages, but one of the most essential Eastern European BM/Folk metal bands deserves it's own discussion thread.

True, I can agree on that. However, I am sure there were threads about NM in this forum before and when I have checked this particular one, I have expected to learn some news instead of having just another "do you like/dislike"-thread here. 
Anyway, I think "Voice of Steel" is their best effort thus far. They have obviously transcended the limits of Black-/Pagan Metal w/o forsaking their roots, if you know what I mean.

| I like Varggoth über heinous vocals. It's not the perfect band but some songs on NeChrist and To The Gates are crushing. So yes. |

Could never listen to them longer than 30 seconds, but some good friends with an otherwise excellent taste seem to like them.

Well, I could have named the thread "Do you like Nokturnal Mortum?" for obvious effect, if that was all I wanted to know. No doubt, first impression is always very important.
I prefer "Goat Horns" myself.
Also, the band is working on a new DVD, does anyone own "Live in Katowice", is it any good? |

| I was a huge fan as a teenager, but nowadays I find them sort of... fruity. Nechrist is a good album still though. |

Always thought Twilightfall and Lunar Poetry had their charm. The last two albums are pretty good.

I thought the 'jammin' was far from pointless, its a fantastic album.
One issue with the band though, they need to make up their mind with their politics, first they're not nazi, then they are nazi, now they're making out that they're not again... I heard from some people that they even applied to get that last release on Nuclear Blast of all labels - anybody know if thats true? |
