Probably Sigur Ros in 2006.

Heavy, epic, beautiful and intense.

Blasphemy in 2009
- What can you say? Oversold club ready to explode just to witness the Ross Bay Demons on stage. From the start of War Command to the final beat of Ritual, a complete obliteration and devastation on which none of the bands that played before Blasphemy are capable of.

That entire night was great, you just felt the anticipation for Blasphemy kept on building for each band that played, until it exploded when they hit the stage. Personally I thought nothing could beat the set of Revenge that night, just untill Blasphemy laid the whole place in ruins.

#1 The Devil's Blood - Pure atmosphere, excellent music I actually care about, and it sounded as good as my own stereo playing it. The small Calgary venue worked awesome for it as well for the little they were allowed to do.

#2 Pantera - When they came through Edmonton I was still young (20 something) and I thought the energy was high, the music was great at the time, everything about it was excellent. The awesomeness of being young made it that much cooler I'm sure.

I might have been able to add some bestial kvlt bands on this list had I actually ever went anywhere, but I have not, and the local kvlt shows with 10 people in attendance (if that) does not make for exciting shows.

Was that the one that Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult played? If so that was the best I've ever seen them live out of my 4 times. Followed closely by the free show they did in some warehouse in NY several years ago. My opinions of the warehouse show are biased though based on the freeness as well as the pig that was cooked and fed to everyone. Seriously did anyone else go to that show, what the fuck was that? Black metal philanthropy at its finest.

yes it was with DNS, it was a fucking superb show, I got to see them again in SF but they weren't as good as the Europa show (which is surprising as I hate that venue). That BMPR (black metal pig roast) sounds like it was amazing. Who else played?

hell yeah that was a great tour and probably my Slayer highlight - although the recentish Reign In Blood gig in Sydney was pretty kick arse

way too many gigs to even remember but some highlights:

all Metal For The Brain festivals although they all blur into one continuum of bands

Alchemist 1994 (show with Lunasphere material heard for the first time and aided by some acid Smile)

Damaged 1993 (first time seeing them on a crappy Sunday night with fuck all people but they were so powerful)

d.USK at Evil Invaders 3 this year (finally getting to hear their stuff live and with a perfect sound - sooo happy)

Ministry (Psalm 69 tour - SUPER heavy - although acid was involved here too)

Acheron / Necrotomy (played 2 shows together in 2 days in Canberra - so heavy)

General Surgery / Cock And Ball Torture / Regurgitate at MDF 2007 (3 of my fave bands at one festival - bliss!!)

Autopsy at MDF 2010 (Destined To Fester and In The Grip Of Winter live = Shocked Shocked Shocked )

Fuck I'm Dead / Garbage Guts (Sydney harbour cruise on a small ferry full of pissed metalheads)

Sleep 1994 in Atlanta (Holy Mountain tour supporting Hawkwind)

I'm sure there are tons more I'll remember

Some awesome gigs there, metal for the brain was always cool. That Necrotomy / Acheron set would have killed![/quote]
