Acheron / Necrotomy (played 2 shows together in 2 days in Canberra - so heavy)

Some awesome gigs there, metal for the brain was always cool. That Necrotomy / Acheron set would have killed!

Acheron were a bit catchier but Necrotomy were bludgeoning and unrelenting - they also covered Christbait Rising which was tops

one of the gigs also had Scum which was the Napalm Death cover band with Renato from Disembowelment doing a killer Lee Dorian impersonation - unsurprisingly they ruled

a few other additions to my list:
Dead Can Dance 2013 - simply amazing gig and so glad I have finally seen them live
Morbid Angel 1992 - Blessed tour and simply awesome
Blood Duster/Alchemist/Psychrist 1995 - first time seeing BD and they killed it - held my title for best live band for many years after this
Einstürzende Neubauten 2013 - spellbinding
Bolt Thrower Portland 2013 - saw them 3 times on this trip but Portland was the highlight
Dystopia 1999 - played at a youth centre here and were damn heavy and bleak as fuck
Pungent Stench 1993 - first tour of Australia and saw them twice - so crude and so much fun

Haven't been to many, but Alice Cooper in 08(?) was gold; even if he did forget the name of our town.

Aria in Moscow 1987 for being my first concert
Gehennah in Stockholm 1996
Necrophobic at Apromus in Stockholm 1997, amazing gig
Nifelheim first gig ever 2001, I even got to scream in the microphone to their cover of Korrozia Metalla
Root same festival as Nifelheim in 2001 (2heavy4you)
Celtic Frost in Stockholm 2007
Aria in Sweden this summer at Muskelrock, they still got it!
Dark Quarterer, also at Muskelrock, probably the best concert ever

Goatpenis – Helsinki 2011. Large parts of the audience were too tired/drunk (band started playing around 1.30AM)

Tactical maneuver was to drink redbull & vodka/jäger at the barstand during the Behexen gig to get to right mood.

Gah extreme jealousy! I was very happy to see Neurosis at MDF recently but that tour would have been amazing

Watain/Nifelheim – Turku 2008. Total magic from both bands. One of the smallest stages I’ve seen “big” bands like this on. Made it a very intimate experience from both bands

That gig was something. Notable would be that the Watain roadie had the guts to use those crazy pyros in such small place like S-Osis was! They were denied from using them at the very start but they ignored the instructions... Watching the venue staff losing their minds as the flames lick the ceiling was priceless.

All three gigs on that minitour were great...

I was on the front row in Turku, missed out on any arguments going on during the gig. That was a great place to be when the stage was something like 30cm high and 3,5m across. I don’t remember if it was before this gig or another on the tour, but Watain really seemed to have intimidated the Spearhead guys. They didn’t look happy to be there at all. There was an atmosphere of a fight breaking out at any moment, but I doubt it ever happened. Plenty of blood spilled at the Turku backstage though, not just in Spearheads "room". The owner must have had a blast getting it cleaned up afterwards.
