The digipack is the original version. I have this one with SUPURATION name on cover (not SUP).

The only original I had was Cassette Tape; didn't realize the first cd was a digi (as is the repress). Easiest way to tell them apart is the original says SUPURATION, the repress says SUP (+has 3 bonus tracks).

Regardless ... this is such a killer album that has never seen a vinyl pressing! Such a shame! The bass guitar on the damn cd is MASSIVE at times ... would be utterly supreme on record!!! I don't think it's a record that I could recommend to all DM fans with a straight face ... but to anyone interested in progressive music, with a firm foothold in DM ... what a great album!!!

SUPURATION's first album had a vinyl pressing. I bought it back in the day but sold it because the layout was poor compared to the digipack version. The former is a simple record without insert of any kind.

Really an amazing album; one of the best DM cd ever done in France.

I sold it ages ago, but maybe the person who bought it from me is still active and reads this forum and can confirm this information.

Here are several (sorted by me through google results) links that give the information:

http://vs.vs-webzine.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=312

http://www.thefrenchtouch.org/tft/objet.php?objet=506

http://fr-fr.facebook.com/sup.supuration/posts/127341647303784?_fb_noscript=1 (It looks it comes from the band's Facebook page but I have no Facebook account to confirm).

http://www.popsike.com/SUPURATION-The-Cube-LP-1st-press/170652846406.html

which comes probably from the following auction:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SUPURATION-Cube-LP-1st-press-/170657858140

About SUPURATION there were tracks for a compilation cd named obscurum per obscurious together with other bands from their area. The tracks are a perfect translation between the demo cd and the first album.....

about the fact that "the cube" is one of the best DM album here in France.....I don't know but it's a "solid" album without any doubt.

I have this comp and I confirm your sayings. Were these tracks released on another format?

Simply incredible, man.

I will add it to the list of things I will never have, and which make me sad for never being able to attain ... yet I will still find solace + a shred of happiness just knowing it's out there for others to enjoy ... (others on the list include Scarlett Johansson's sweet, sweet poon) ... sigh ...

My French is still in its infancy, but seems like they have some sort of vinyl project going on;
http://fr.ulule.com/cube3/
If I got it right, there's a book about the band that has 540 pages?
http://www.supuration.fr/trace-ecrite-par-mr-jeremie-grima/
Are they considerably bigger in France than elsewhere?

The first link is a crowdfunding appeal for a release of the third part of The Cube trilogy, somewhat 20 years after the second part - the MCD Still in the Sphere. Crowdfunding is cool but considering the albums after this MCD, I have fears about the result being good.

The book is a biography of the band. They had some kind of semi-success but they never got that big. Or maybe in the circles that rave when there's a LOUDBLAST show not far from their town, like the main persons behind the violent solutions forum.

Still in the Sphere is not part of the trilogy. The second part was Incubation.

Probably. I never cared about them since Room Seven and I both sold this one and Anomaly years ago. The band and its label had at this point lost most of what they made them good years before...

I thought their recent Cube release was quite good. They never were quite "death metal" proper, more like a death metal/experimental/Voivod fusion.
