I'm listening to the ep right now, I fail to see how such kind of music should be considered worse than most "old school" death metal bands around today. At least the guy has some experience to back uo the music...

Yeah, he made 2 good albums 20 years ago, and has 20 years experience of producing total shit. Doesn't fill you with confidence does it?

The album is great. Reminds me a lot of "Lost Paradise".

Sample track from EP is boring.

The guitar sound is 'nice' to listen to (of all the Sunlight Studio albums it mimics, I'd say it sounds closest to 'Clandestine'), but the music itself has no feeling, no atmosphere.

Assuming the other tracks are similar, I don't see how anyone can compare this music to old Paradise Lost.

I would compare the EP (and Desecration is a killer track in my opinion) more to Eternal Darkness or Gorement. LP is in the "Soon available" list of Patrick/Iron Bonehead for those interested.

Working on second album

We are currently well into writing our follow up album to "A Fragile King", and thought we would share some tentative song titles with you.

"Aghast"
"Savages Arise"
"The Wolves of Sin"
"Bereft"
"Dragged to Gehenna"
"Cattle"
"The Great Divide"

Just to name a few.

We are hoping to record later this year and we are currently looking at where we want to record it and who with.
We want to make it even dirtier than our debut and it would be cool to hear what your recent, favourite extreme productions are.

Cheers

Gregor

This.

I thought the album was reasonably enjoyable but also boring and highly forgettable. In fact I don't think I've listened to it more than 3 times since I bought it.

I found Vallenfyre highly suspect; neither member has written good Death Metal for about 20 years, yet when there's a boom on 'old-school' death metal they arrive at a convenient time, self-referencing as a supergroup to score a record deal by association rather than earning it from the bottom-up like everyone else.

And this just summarises the situation of Vallenfyre as a money scheme all too well:
