| Seems that prices have fallen for records lately? Anyone remember like four five years ago people paying like $500 for all sorts of records? the FMP forum was hilarious for that...had some laughs over at that |

$500 for a record is pretty steep. Laughable especially if you are scraping it together to drop on one album. For some this cash is nothing mind you so they get the last laugh, however $500 for a single album is pretty damned steep. |

it's funny how this whole "underground" thing is full of rich people. It''s like a crusty squatter punk driving a bentley. |

| Who really knows. There are some people who put up their records on sale for 1/5 of the eGay prices and rely on the heavy metal vinyl record price guide book. |

| A few records I've looked at on popsike it seems that prices have gone up since say 2003 but there is a cycle- Rare metal record goes on ebay for $300, suddenly every guy with that record wants to sell it because he thinks he will get $300, so more become available there. Still you will see a guy pay $51 for a Satanic Warmaster record which is still available from distros for $16 so I dont see people who buy on ebay wising up much. |

I'm not sure if it's still up, but someone was selling a bootleg copy of Mayhem's "Deathcrush" on gold vinyl saying it was a rare posercorpse pressing. Last time I checked the bid was around $150-some.
I say this because it makes me happy to know I purchased 2 copies of the same bootleg for 25 dollars. |

Shit, the recording/release does not even need to be that old to net a ridiculous sum of money on ebay.
Satyricon - Now, Diabolical vinyl, seen for $80+ many times.
Mastodon - Blood Mountain vinyl, seen for always $80+
High on Fire - Death is this Communion vinyl, same deal as above etc etc
These albums are all really new by standards of collectibles. |

Man, I'd imagine this typically sells for more than that. I know that Leviathan usually sold for around $200, even the non-rare version. I don't know about the rarer coloured versions.
I fucking hate it when they press a hundred different colours of LPs. Typically with Sunn o)), Isis, Relapse bands etc. A toxic holocaust clear-7" sold on ebay for $256 the other week. The regular version of this release is still available and only came out a month ago. I guess it's true that a fool and his money are soon parted. Might be considered ironic with the way I waste money but I don't spend it on different colours of the same fucking records. |

Vlad Tepes, Judas Iscariot, Satanic Warmaster, Absurd, Katharsis...
Funniest ever was a bootleg Deathspell Omega shirt. You could look at the seller's history and see that he had sold a bunch of the same shirt design for like $14-18 or whatever the price of a shirt is, and then one went for $220. The best part is the there was not one guy that stupid, but 2 (the second highest bidder). |

Huh. One would be much better off buying the 12" picture LP of the Proclamation/Teitanblood than a mere 7" for a $100? Unbelievable. Although, I really want the Teitanblood/Necros Christos 7" but I was too late buying it when it was on stock on a whole bunch of places.
To add in the list of valuable shit, look at the first presses various bands from Nifelheim, Mayhem, Burzum, Darkthrone, Emperor, Destroyer 666, and others. The Nifelheim's Devil Force LP was up to $160 by the time the eGay auction was over. Burzum first presses typically go over $200 as well. |
