I picked entombed. but I do love my Dismember. Have a 'Dismembering North America' tour shirt from like... 94? Matti hugged me in an elevator after MDF a few years ago after I expressed how much I love Dismember and General Surgery. It was pretty touching. ha!
Listening to Indecent and Obscene right now. |

Of the bands mentioned Dismember is my favorite. I think their debut is much more violent and crazy sounding than Left Hand Path. Not to mention that I have never really liked ALL the songs on LHP...
Anyway none of the other options are really contenders for me. I think Grave is dull and I only like a little bit of the stuff from the remaining bands. Of course when it comes to Swedish DM I'm just a total dick...I think it's the most self-referential and copycat scene in metal history. _________________

Fuck yes. Like an Ever Flowing Stream is one of the most violent records to ever come out of Sweden, in my opinion. Left Hand Path pales in comparison.
I really love Dismember's demos and last album, too. The vocals on the first demo are some of the sickest ever recorded. I wish he would have stuck with that style for a while longer! |

| Like an Ever Flowing Stream was probably my favorite death metal album as a teenager. I still have a nuclear blast poster for indecent and obscene on my wall and a vhs with dismember videos on it thats worn from the years.(it also has incantation, immolation and ancient(norway) videos, ha!) |

Anybody else think that Grave - Burial Ground was surprisingly good? _________________ "If noise means uncomfortable sound. Then pop is noise to me" - Masami Akita. |

Entombed / Dismember / Grave / Carnage all 1st albums are on par IMO.
Never really dug Unleashed although Shadows In The Deep were tolerable. |

Grotesque and Liers in Wait are the best ones IMO. Should be a part of the vote. _________________ Reliable sellers/traders: ENOLA GOAT,LorteBrian, Adrian5118, Unholy Horde, Kapalika, gangraen, frghl, NUCTEMERON, RottingGrave, Blood on Satan's Claw

Kinda surprised to see Entombed running away with this. I've always thought they and Dismember were virtually neck and neck in quality and how well-liked they are. Plus Dismember has ended up having the better overall career, IMO, even if you prefer the first two Entombed albums over the early Dismember stuff (though I do not). _________________

| I am pretty sure even the Tribulation guys might believe Necrophobic is a better kind of band. |

Dismember easily.
Can't believe how many votes Ent/Nihilist got.... Nihilist is great but they're nothing compared to Dismember.
My list goes
1. Dismember
2. Carnage (dark recollections is one of the most evil and heavy albums ever)
3. Merciless
4. Nihilist/Entombed
5. Grave
6. Unleashed _________________
