I received my copy of the Niantiel demo in the mail today. This is what I wrote N.C.:
"This is quite honestly one of the most unique recordings I have ever heard from an American black metal band.
Anticipating another cookie cutter attempt at raw, lightening fast black metal I was completely fucking surprised and relieved to hear what you've actually done. The atmosphere is so original and so mysterious it's hard for me to describe it in any words I could possibly share with you. I detected an almost "psychedelic" element to the guitar structure in the first and third tracks, or perhaps "surreal" is the word you prefer, and the bass lines are simply ace!
The packaging is also extreme. I remember getting tapes like this in the mail in the 90ies and being impressed with the obscure aesthetics and layout which always lent the actual music some visual context. In my opinion, good music and good imagery should always be partnered. You've married both and created a pleasing artifact of cult black metal."
