Which bands do you find above average who only have a small number of releases in their discography? If I recall correctly, none of the bands I mention below even did a full length album, only EP's and/or demo's.
PROCREATION (can) - These guys were fucking killer, it's a shame they did not release very much.
POISON (ger) - One of the greatest early extreme acts, I think these guys had a very unique sound and stood out from the other German bands at that time period.
ATOMIC AGGRESSOR (chi) - Although they just reformed (hopefully they won't fuck up their legacy...), this band was insane. They remind me of SADISTIC INTENT meets early SEPULTURA. I enjoy this band quite a bit more than both DEATH YELL and PENTAGRAM.
GROTESQUE (swe) - Easily one of the greatest Death Metal bands to ever show it's ugly face upon this planet.
NIHILIST (swe) - They epitomized the Death Metal sound from the late 80's/early 90's era, enough said. |

Sortsind. In their cd (Sår) + 7" (Tomhed), they did what I wish more people who attempt the "depressive" black metal subgenre could achieve, and that is sincere introspection. They offered to the listener a maze of the subconscious to be explored, which is concrete and palpable, and gives the listerner manifold revelations if they are willing to accept them.
I also really like Lifelover, and I don't know if they're still going or not. People don't give them enough credit for their painfully accurate depiction of modern life.
More NWN related, I really like Mutation. |

I agree, ERUPTED EVIL is some of my favorite stuff in that style. That band was really fucked up in the best possible way that term can be used. |

This looks like a marketing term some gay label would stick on a release.
It would of been nice to see Necrovore release at least one fucking LP. Either Jon is a lazy bum or he was just scared it would never live up to the demo. The demo is great sure, but most only say that because it's the "in" thing to say.
The Necrovore/Morbid Angel rivalry is gay too. At least MA continued on, instead of using one fucking four-song demo as a claim to fame. Sorry, but it takes a little more than that. |

| CURSE from Sweden. Combining Dark Death Metal of Treblinka/Tiamat with the pre-87 Thrash stuff of Obscurity/Mefisto and Merciless. My opinion the 2nd demo is one if the best demos from Sweden ever. |
