I read this article some time ago. The Vice guys are trendy hipsters but sometimes they focus on interesting and barely covered topics like this one.
These guys are though. Wearing all this leather in the heat is a sign of dedication.

there ought to be a fine line between dedication and insanity. being from a place where summers are hot as fuck, i don't see ANY meaning in wearing these in summer.

I wouldn't do it myself, as I experienced some hot summers in Southern France (even if they're probably colder than yours), but isn't insanity a part of Metal ?
