Have you heard cover songs which are better than originals? Or is it even possible (That is a rhetorical question: " Where the streets have no name" U2 VS. Pet Shop Boys) ? Which fare better than originals or come even close?
I could start with Slayer´s version of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.
Also The Luttinen Brothers have made two outstanding covers (Impaled Nazarene´s version of Ghostriders & Legenda´s version of Embers Fire) |

| I don't like Hypocrisy but their version of "Evil Invaders" was excellent |

Yeah, one: Grabschänder - "Totaler Krieg" ("Total War" by ImpNaz).
It's on the Masturbation of the Undead demo 2001, its lyrics are translated in german, the music is much faster, rawer and sicker than the original. For me it's the better version. _________________ Good/Bad traders list

I have to check that one if I ever come across that demo. What does the band name mean? |

Don't turn my head, guyz, I know that I'm skatin' on thin ice... Needless to say that the original versions are pretty damn classics, each in its own niche, but I prefer the covers from time to time as they're ass-tight played and maybe it's this wicked "rejuvenation" which makes 'em that damn good, even better in some terms.
Thesyre - Gate of Nanna
- reveals a level of aggression which's not hearable on "Drawing..."
Carpathian Forest - A Forest
Type O' Negative - Black Sabbath
- perfect cover, balanced between fear of the original and courage to give the song a new twisted visage
Taetre - Paint It Black
- shreds the Stones (and foremost Marduk's shitty attempt) to itsy-bitsy pieces

Divine Eve - Visions Of Mortality (Celtic Frost)
Divine Eve - Witching Metal (Sodom)
Eternal Solstice - Outbreak Of Evil (Sodom) |

ANGELCORPSE with POSSESSED´s "Burning in Hell", KREATOR´s "Pleasure to Kill", SLAYER´s "Kill Again"
Of course ORDER FROM CHAOS with SODOM´s "Nuctemeron", VENOM´s "In the Dead of the Night"/"Senile Decay", and VOIVOD´s "War and Pain"...
Finally REVENGE with BATHORY´s "War", as a crushing demolition hammer
But any surpass the originals anyway.... |

Sargatanas- Satan's Curse(Possessed): one of the ugliest covers i've heard and almost half the speed as the original. Fucking killer!
Necros Christos- Witchcraft(Beherit): sounds better than the original.
Repugnant- Another Vision(Morbid): haven't heard the original but FUCK!!!! What a great song! _________________ INTO THE DRAPE.. |

| Vulture Lord's cover of the Deliverance song "Lord of Vice" is pretty good, and at times is better than the original. Depends on my mood. |
