Very cool indeed! Who has even THOUGHT about this album since October 1999?

More news from Pepa Vassago:

Quote:
I found a DVD with the artwork for Knights from Hell.
I found a DAT for Vassago, and also a DAT for Antichrist, material we used for the split-LP. However, there is one or two additional songs on the Vassago DAT, that is not on the split-LP.
I also found a DAT with unreleased Vassago material.
Moreover, I have a demo tape that was never released, where I do most of the vocals and all the guitars and bass, with a drum machine, also Thomas from Lord Belial does vocals on that demo.

So it looks like there will be more Vassago material coming out on NWN. I can't wait to hear this unreleased stuff and the demo.

The stories surrounding this release were elaborate upon its release. The keyboard parts were supposed to have been recorded by a handicapped spastic called KK Kranium who was on parole from his carecenter to record his parts. He sat in the studio drooling over the keys while the other members tried to refrain from laughing. Not true, regrettably. Fun TRUE fact is that it was recorded by Andy LaRoque (King Diamond) in his old studio Los Angered in Angered north of Gothenburg. That was the go to studio for “extreme” bands on the west coast back then (I was also there on one occasion with an old band). If I remember right he had his alarm in the studio wired directly to the local Hells Angels chapter. The guestbook in that place was a master class in pubescent nonsense.

It seems like Andy LaRoque was very active in the extreme metal scene around that time. I remember his contribution to some Necropolis bands in the late 90's and early 00's.

Awesome. Anything remotely related to '90s Lord Belial is welcome.

Slightly/partially off-topic, but seems like Andy is still involved with extreme bands, having recently worked on upcoming records from Runemagick and Nifelheim.

Back on topic, this Vassago album is absolutely killer!

Oh yeah, and dude is also laying down some solos on this album as well. Listen to the second track e.g.

Definitively sounds like him with the quirky noise going on, and I know he had a habit of helping bands he worked with out like that.

Curious about the "Nattflykt" demo, never managed to get hold of a copy.
Is it similar in style to the later stuff?
