I use one of my trusty SL-1200s. Built like a fucking tank. Haven't had an issue in the 15+ years I've had them.

| Honestly Ive never actually taken apart a turntable before, but replacing capacitors in basic old-school appliances like turntables is a very easy fix. Theres plenty of jewtube videos that describe how to do it. There will only be one or two. All you need is a soldering iron. If your already ok with writing the machine off, then give it a try first. |

My Technics Grandmaster SL1210 never gave me a single problem, but I grew tired of the direct-drive hum. I traded longevity for neutrality, but I'm not too worried. _________________ You can dispose of your guitar, Show No Mercy has been already been written. |

I was in the habit of putting a record on to fall asleep too, but that causes the record to spin all night. Is that damaging to the needle, or not enough to sweat over? |

Thanks.
As with most eurorack modulars it's a mish-mash of manufacturers. Malekko/Wiard, The Harvestman, Tip Top Audio, Make Noise, 4MS, Doepfer, Fonitronik, Intellijel, and Expert Sleepers in my case.
Here's a better pic:

I didn't feel like starting a new topic thread for this one question, but figured one person in this thread might know.
I recently seen Morbid Saint-Spectrum of Death LP as either a DBL-LP or with a gatefold cover.
It's for $38+tax.
Anyone recommend it ? |

just wondering if anyone can advise me on this problem.
when my turntable is playing, the sound is all fucked up, dropping in and out of speakers randomly, and going kinda "whoosshy" if that makes sense. when im playing cds the sound is constant and fine, just wondering is there something wrong with my needle/neck wires? it is possible they just need readjusting/tighting? ive recently moved house so think maybe its just been from that.
cheers

So I am having an issue lately with my set up. When the music gets really chaotic with lots of cymbals, say for example, any Conqueror song, the sound gets thin and at times starts to crack.
I have a brand new Pro-Ject Debut III, which goes into a pre-amp, which goes into a pair self-amplified Audioengine 5 speakers

Anyway, the problem must be either the pre-amp or the needle (ortofon om-5E), but everything is brand new. Is this issue typical of a lame needle? |
