Death Hammer, though I always just listen to that when I want to hear Asphyx and it has been a hell of a long time since I've listened to the early material.

Voted The Rack, but that's all I have ever heard from Asphyx.

The older I get, the more I get this.

On topic: Embrace the Death, no doubt

Theo Loomans sounded darker and more disgusting than Wannes or Drunen will ever get. Those vocals on Embrace the Death are one of a kind.

Embrace by far.

Then it's either s/t or The Rack, the first 'cause it's the one I listen to the most, the latter for nostalgic reasons.

I thought you worship them all,due to your CF mania!
Can't say one album by far.
The material with Wannes is crushing!
Same for Theo Loomans (Eternal RIP).

I love them all up to On the Wings..., what a monster of an album, mate! Wannes vocals are one of a kind indeed, remember watching Pentacle perform on Party San 2007 (before the Asphyx reunion show) and they crushed all over the place... riding the storm!
Anyway, nothing tops the feeling of DEATH and morbid bleakness in Embrace..., that's the true voice from the Netherworld..., it's pretty much the real debut album + Streams 7'' for me, even if I worship all the pre-reunion albums. The Rack is just so corrosive, one of my favourite DM productions as a kid... I was already familiar with Pestilence's Consvming Impvlse but this was on a league of its own for me too.
God Cries is cool as well, but Eric Daniels = Asphyx to me. Killer mortuary leads and massive riffage, by far one of my main influences at composing DM - being a piss poor guitarist may make me go for the slower end of the spectrum as well, ha! Just listen to the opening track for Asphyx's Asphyx and THAT wall of heaviness...

Pentacle are, along with Incantation, Sadistic Intent, Mortem and the GODS Cianide, the best current band raising the banner of death high.
Ascended Dead of the new bunch.
Wimps and posers leave the hall.

Agree with every single words here. Embrace the Death is the deadliest most evil cryptic sounding but still crushing metal release ever recorded.

Theo > Wannes > Van Drunen

It's the voice of rot and bellows from the disemboweled. One of the darkest vocal performances in this history of death metal.

DENYING THE GOAT!

Sounds like I should give this one a try.
