THIS IS AN IDEA OF A NEW PRESSING OPPORTUNITY
PLEASE GIVE YOUR OPINION ABOUT THIS

- 150 COPIES / EACH VINYL IS HAND-NUMBERED
- BLACK 150 GR. VINYL WITH COLORED CENTRAL LABEL
- VINYLS MADE IN EUROPE
- BLACK INNER SLEEVE
- THICK FULL COLORED OUTER SLEEVE (500 GR)
- RESALE PRICE: 13 euros (without postage)

DO YOU FIND THIS AS AN HONEST POSSIBILITY ?
(ESPECIALLY FOR BANDS THAT DON'T INTEREST MANY PEOPLE)

ANY SUGGESTIONS OF BANDS FOR PRESSINGS IN SUCH LIMITED QUANTITIES ?

Great idea, release records by bands that don't interest many people.

Maybe you should focus on releasing good bands, rather than limited records and packaging.

Is this where labels are heading now? Think of this shit like packaging, presentation, etc. before you even have any bands?

I don't know why almost every record is limited press? I can understand the die hard press thing, but it makes no sense to limit your bands and fans to limited pressings....

Yeah, the limitation of LP's is a fucking joke, really. I mean, don't get me wrong. Most of the garbage of today shouldn't even be released let alone limited. But these clowns who think what they do is so great that it should be limited to an elite "select few" (eBay wimps, haha) should be shot. Why? Well, aside from the fact their music is crap, It's an insult to the old bands. Mercyful Fate, Possessed, Bathory, Venom, Slayer, etc. never limited their releases and still nothing the typical BM nerd band makes today will ever be able to even hold a candle to those classic records.

Shit is shit, doesn't matter if 150 or 15,000 people smelt it.

=> It's called having some sort of a plan.

Quote:

=> What does "never limited" their release mean? A thousand press, 10'000 a million (probably not). They probably pressed as much as the budget allowed. Besides that you are mentioning bands who probably didn't have to work on a shoestring budget (well, maybe at the very beginning).
And finally stop this "insult to the old bands this, insult to the old bands that" - What are these, the new gods?

To the original poster:
150 copies is too low. And get rid of that handnumbering - everyone else already does it. It doesn't make the musick any better though.

On another note - why not find those bands yourself. If
you release records, don't you want to release stuff of bands
you actually like yourself? I would.

Also, thanks for being such an avid user of CAPS.

I personally wouldn't bother pressing vinyl at such a low volume ... I guess you want to press it at these numbers due to $$$? Agreed, release material by bands YOU like! I wouldn't release a LP or 7" (or any format for the matter) of some band I don't like , but know that it will "Sell really well"

Hmm, maybe the Asker don't know so much bands or don't know
the Way for contact them?
Further i think he make it like HMSS, for small custom circle
only....Private Pressing so called

The best way is to write the Name
(probally the Adress) of the Customer on the Vinyl or the
Sleeve, may a little bit "personell" for the customers.

- To Endless Morbidity :
“Great idea, release records by bands that don't interest many people.”
Ironic sentence ? Well, a certain part of the underground is still into releasing stuffs that don’t interest many people. Releasing stuffs that interest many people is the definition of the mainstream.

“Maybe you should focus on releasing good bands, rather than limited records and packaging.”
That’s not antagonic.

“Is this where labels are heading now? Think of this shit like packaging, presentation, etc. before you even have any bands?”
The best labels on earth to my mind (Hells Headbangers, NWN, …) do care about the presentation (colored vinyls, picture disc, patch …). And releasing a limited number of vinyls does not necessary mean that you will do a different packaging.

- To Shadow Kingdom :
“I don't know why almost every record is limited press? I can understand the die hard press thing, but it makes no sense to limit your bands and fans to limited pressings....”
Yes, I perfectly agree with you. I was thinking about pressing demos that have only circulated on the tape or cdr format until now. Not at all albums that many people will be looking for.

That’s right. But sometimes you may not have the idea at the moment. And exchanging ideas about interesting hypothetical releases is a subject already posted on this forum, but said in another way. And such topics made this forum so interesting. Sorry for not being able to trigger this enthusiasm again.
