Everytime I listen to the downloaded CD-R copy I lifted from the internet I always think to myself that this is quite possibly the best Barathrum album they did.
Why is it that this album is so rare or hard to come by ? Because it's that good and no one wants to let a copy go ?
The others all seem readily available enough, whats the deal with this particular release ?

In my opinion, Infernal is the best work of Barathrum. In general I think Infernal is Nazgul's Eyrie catalog number more rare of all productions.

It is said that the label pressed only 300 copies of the CD. Nazgul's Eyrie were in deep financial trouble at the time of the release of "Infernal". It truly is the best Bararthrum album, I wish it had a stronger production though!

Extremely dark and twisted album.. I think it is of equal quality as EERIE, which I think is brilliant too!
A shame Opyros only did 500 copies.
I hope Dennis will do this on DLP!

I've heard that the album is so hard to track down nowadays 'cause it was released when Nazgul's Eyrie was about to quit and it wasn't pressed that much they usually did.. Don't know if this is true.

Infernal is also one of the alltime favorite albums for me without a doubt, also only record in my collection which I've paid over 40euros, allthough it definitely was worth it. Can't decide which Barathrum album is better, Infernal or Hailstorm...

500 copies are pressed, sooo happy to have one. The cover is quite luxorious, with silver prints and paintings of Demonos.

Oh there still was that many pressed, I remember I've heard/read from somewhere that the pressing would've been <400.

And yeah, artwork on the booklet is pretty stunning, if KBTMT is doing a vinyl release, I really hope those same paintings would be used in that!

These are all interesting and perhaps sad stories... however why the hell hasn't this gem been re-pressed by someone in the here and now making their label/distro work and sell ?

Much like Mortuary Drape - Secret Sudaria, these are two albums that should be readily available (on CD) as they are powerful and magnificant recordings. Razz

There was some turmoil at the Nazgul's Eyrie Productions camp(s) and Spinefarm that prevented reissuing Infernal. I don't remember the details though, but I'm sure some other user will remember.
Hailstorm and Eerie were reissued on a double cd.
And yes, it is the best work album from Barathrum and Masters Throne really should use the artwork of the cd. The cover is made by Demonos and the paintings by JS Kerman.
What happened to Oliver Kraupa?

Though Black Goat continually insists that this is a bootleg. I'm not sure of the exact context of this release, so I can't say.

I really don't remember the details, so I refrain from commenting any further like a true politician...

All these endless stupid Mayhem bootlegs that come left right and center, and this wicked album is harder to find than reality in the bible.

It's a shame really.

Long story written by Opyros himself.
Sheds some light to the rarity of Barathrum & Mortuary Drape albums & to the bootleg issue.

Yea it's a long story of who did who wrong and who cost who what. It's quite some time ago now, and what these dudes seem to fail to realize is that these albums are now just spreading around in digital format and no one is making a dime back anymore.
The internet has thrown a new spin on this he said she said drama.

Time to bury some hatchets and approach this/these albums from a modern perspective and just get them published and selling again.

I don't remember is Masters Throne releasing only the vinyl or is there a cd coming as well when it comes to Infernal?
But you are right: good music should always be available for a normal price.
