Got to know this band here, on a different thread but GRIFFIN Flight of the Griffin is killer Speed Metal too. Their second lp is pretty cool too, not as instant, but worth it alone for the first track on the record

Master of Disguise is really one of the best speed metal record ever recorded.
Let me add:
Avenger (UK) - Blood Sports and Killer Elite, both killer records
Predator - Easy Prey LP, I remember enjoying that record a lot. The guitar work is great if my memory serves me well. And the cover is truely over the top.

1. SAVAGE GRACE - Master Of Disguise (original LP mix, as the recent CD remix/remastering job sucks IMO)
2. ACID - first two LPs
3. AGENT STEEL - Skeptics Apocalypse
4. EXCITER - Heavy Metal Maniac
5. ADX - Execution
6. ABATTOIR - Vicious Attack
Not sure if Acid can be considered proper speed metal, but they sure helped define the genre. |

yes, fancy metal...is not so much in fashion, but it IS the origin ov Athletik Metal.
Many confuse Speed Metal for Thrash and there IS alot ov crossover bands who Could be defined as both. The main difference is Speed Metal's main priority is virtuosity and the concentrating ov heavy metal musical forms whereas Thrash was (relatively) blue-collar and included extra-metallic idiomatic forms (punk etc) and metalized them.
I am into MEKONG DELTA which is a very strange band.
