Discuss your introduction to metal. How old you were, what band it was, how it happened etc.
I was 11, playing some faggy video game that had Motorhead's "Ace of Spades". I loved it so I went out and bought the album, plus a "best of" cd, and it just escalated from there. I stopped playing video games and started listening to metal. Now I'm 17, and Motorhead are still one of my favorite bands. _________________ my medium of distant fingers |

Iron Maiden "Run to the Hills" track on some rock compilation tape my father bought in 1985. I was nearly 11. _________________ Into the Menstrual Night We Go-o, Hey-Ho, Hey-Ho...

| When I was about 12/13 I used to go to scouts, a couple of guys there had older brothers who used to go to the older scout group, they all had long hair and Iron Maiden logos painted on the back of their leather jackets- I thought they were the coolest guys in the world, even cooler when they took us out in their cars blasting metal out of the stereo. So I guess that's how I became hooked. |

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 for the playstation?
I was introduced at a VERY young age...
When I was in the womb, my ma used to hold up a pair of head phones to her tummy and play slayer and such.
I didn't really get into metal though untill i was 10 and heard iron maiden. been a fanatic since. |

| I started with WASP - inside the electric circus when I was 9 or so. Later came dubs of Running Wild, Iron Maiden and Metallica and that was it. |

I guess I started getting into it all at the age of 12 with stuff like: Deicide, Metallica, Slayer, Type O Negative, Napalm Death, Obituary: I remember seeing the video for 'The End complete' and thinking 'Damn, thats one brutal song!' I think Deicide-Legion was my very first metal purchase, i'm still a huge fan of that band. _________________ INTO THE DRAPE..

Black Sabbath - Iron Man. My father bought that (best of CD-)album in 198? and played that song on his stero and at maximum volume. I got frightened and fascinated at the same time by the "monster voice" and the guitars. Still it took some years until I found out that "I am a metal-head", haha _________________

My brother-in-law (at the time my sister's boyfriend) bought her a Scorpions tape. This was 1991, I was 11. She hated it and tossed it aside. I liked the cover... and it all went downhill from there. |

| Scorpions, Manowar, Tarot, Iron Maiden, Metallica etc in 1988-90 (I was 10-12 back then). Then gradually dödsmetall, svartmetall, crapmetal, etc. Lateboomer by todays standards. Here in Finland 5-6 years old boys listen to Nightwish , Lordi and other scheize and grow long hair. |
