Is this really good?[/quote]

yes. I absolutely like it. No groling vox though. More clear vocals, but different to e.g. Simens' vocals on Lamented Souls. It is massive.

listen to the samples. Great stuff. Just the song "Pendulum" is a bit too slow for me, whereas "Vagrant God" fits quiet well for the album description. However, there are even better songs on this CD.

my trinity is, of course, the english one..My Dying Bride (my favourite band)/Anathema/Paradise Lost, all their stuff is great, except the very last "commercial" stuff (but I like all the stuff from My Dying Bride)...anyone know where to find the chorus of ruin 7'' and demo? They're really great, and is a band I'm very "bound" with (thanx Uncolored hahaha)

And I might be with the minority, but I like everything Katatonia has done. They have a very unique sound that no one has imo. I know their stuff is more rock than metal these days, but some of the stuff they come up with is pretty amazing. Though I don't think they can top Dance Of December Souls...some of the best atmosphere on a album ever.

I also like Katatonia's more rock-esque material too. It's alternative gothish rock that I actually appreciate.

In my opinion the Paradise Lost's first material is their weakest and nowhere even close to any death/doom greatness.

Dance of December Souls deserves any praise it gets. Still looking that on vinyl.

NEX (Sweden) Zero

This album is criminally underrated. Easily the best record released during 2007 for me. Crushing, but more importantly: memorable.

WINTER - diSEMBOWELMENT - UNHOLY

Those are my ultimate picks for THE death/doom triumvirate...

MOURN (UK) and their 1995 CD was good!

Yes, very good but no death/doom there. More like a combination of classic epic doom/doom rock like Cathedral, Trouble, The Obsessed and Revelation...

Yeah, Paradise Lost's first album is boring... Gothic is where they got it going, and all in all I like most of the mid-period stuff from those British bands (Draconian Times forever, plus The Silent Enigma and Pentecost III from Anathema).

Also those early MDB albums don't do much for me, but I like the EP stuff compiled on Trinity...

Decomposed is great! DUSK (USA) too!

This is Devoured Death's favourite band. He has tonnes of rarities - if you want to trade PM him.
