I've always just pretended that people mean Dark Angel when they say Death Angel. I have been right 0% of the time, but my world is still a happier place. |

Emperor/Ihsahn
Limbonic Art - flawless up until Phantasmashitiga. Morfeus was obviously more important to the band than first appeared.
I'll put Forefather in there too - I do like their recent stuff but their older records are much more aggressive and atmospheric. Been replaced with a kind of light-hearted "power metal" approach, which is a shame.
But as far as I'm concerned they all actually fulfiled their potential and released strings of classics so it doesn't matter at all that they turned shit.

I am still pissed off at myself for not following through with my plan of going to a local Death Angel record signing with my Dark Angel LP and going up to them and saying "Can you guys sign this, you are my favorite band!"

Sarcofago is up there. I just could not get into their tech death stuff.
