Got into them when the s/t '93 came out. Kirk was in Exhorder for a minute so it sort of explains some of Crowbar's direction, which is why I never hated them like I hated Pantera for cashing in on groove thrash.

The riffs are too good to be written off as a groove band IMO but what do you all think?

More Doom than Groove, I love the shit out of Crowbar, first 4 albums especially!

Never really got them. Never really been much of a sludge fan though.

I like Acid Bath a lot, and Eyehategod, but that's about it.

Yeah, Broken Glass and Odd Fellows Rest are the only two I know well and both are excellent. I'm not a huge fan of sludge but they lean way more toward the metallic side of things which appeals to me.

I'm not following the later records but absolutely love the old stuff.. was not listening to it in a while tho..

every time I saw them live they just breathe rhytm and riffs, metal and blues to the bone

I'm in the same boat , love their early stuff but haven't really heard much of their newer records to have an opinion .

Oh yes! Selftitled, Time Heals Nothing, Broken Glass & Sonic Excess are all excellent. Punishing and desperate. Love it.

Lifesblood for the Downtrodden is the last album of theirs that I truly paid attention to and I liked it very much. Need to check out their latest output asap
