The few 'NS' related bands I like preceded the genre- Burzum and Graveland. Most of this other stuff is talentless garbage.

I prefer White Power rock/metal and RAC like Rahowa, Honar, Buldok, Angry Aryans, etc... The way some in this scene act though- moshing around drunk and dressing like wiggers is totally disgusting.

I think with a lot of NS it's a substantial sonic difference from general "black metal"... it's usually very repetitive, lo fi, monotonous, in many cases very simple (though I'm probably wrong since a lot just sounds like Darkthrone). if you're not into THAT kind of sound, the "ideologies" make it easier to reject as a whole. The entire concept has so many holes in it, and as with any ideology it can be picked apart, it's just easiest to either pick apart Nazi's or Christians... Of course not all NSBM is lo fi junk, and TONS of it is just a very un-uber attempt to emulate the masters (another argument is that BM is modern folk music of hate, and advancement beyond the standard is not necessary)... once again contradictions, but for the best example of lo-fi NSBM done VERY well, all Blazebirth Hall bands, until Kaldred started going overboard with his goofy clean vocals on the later albums. If you're NOT into that kind of lo fi buzzing sound, then you can easily dismiss most of the bands (all genres of music have varieties where some you like or don't, for example, I worship early Swedish Death, but I HATE Technical Death.. find it boring as fuck).

This is of course not considering all the bands that aren't "Nazi's" (if any really are), but are just vaguely racist pagans. Plenty of the pagan "NS" bands seem to present much more complex music (like Kroda for example)... so if you're looking for something above the standard sub-standard buzzing, then perhaps go that way, though it all begins to turn into folk metal, which you might all hate as well...

I don't really read any interviews so I have no idea where these guys are really coming from... I think a lot of it is a simplified articulation of a people who HAD histories and "cultures" and seeing them slip away in a connected and delocalized world, they are lashing out due to a loss of "identity". But being American I have no way of understanding the climate in which their ideologies are generated since being American is a celebration of no identity.

If music is ferocious and fucking evil then I will accept it, I don't give a fuck who they want to kill, so I'm not gonna make some sort of bizarre double standard where it's ok to rape and kill women and Christians but others are sacred. Fuck that. Hail and kill.
