Hello to all.

I'd like to introduce the new Radiant Eye Rex release:

The first demo tape of Ugly Joe, a two-piece consisting of a bassist and a drummer-vocalist. No guitars.

The music is BM to us, but I'd like to have some opinions on that, and on how the songs sound.

Release is limited to 70 green pro-tapes.

Here are some links in case anyone's interested to listen to the material:

Still available:
RER-001: AMOK (Nor) - Necrospiritual Deathcore

In other news, some very good releases are available in the distro section, including works of:
BÍLZER, CAVERNE, NECROPOLE, NOCTERNITY, GOAT SYNAGOGUE and more.[/img]

I'll be honest, the music did nothing for me but the real thing that is gonna hold you back is the band name...brings back horrible memories of that joke grunge band from the early 90s.

Completely agree. Band name isn't a good one because of Ugly Kid Joe comparisons

And I wasn't a fan of the vocals

I could rant about how shit the name and music is but I'll just say I agree with the above comments.

First of all sincere thanks for the feedback.
Regarding the band name, Ugly Joe doesn't really care for the shitty band mentioned above, so no "marketing" decisions were made. This was the desired name (it will develop into a character eventually) so this one was decided to be used.
As for the music, whether considered "shitty" by some or not, we love it and we love its atmosphere. So, I guess it's fine if it is not someone's cup of tea.

More feedback is always welcome.
Cheers

Correction: Ugly Joe are born after 1994 and simply have no clue at all.

^ Then I'd expect a higher degree of competence on their chosen instruments. I can hear the drummer hasn't quite nailed the timing on some of those beat 'variations'. Sections sound entirely hesitant too, which is normal for new drummers. I'd also expect a greater grasp on general aesthetic and theme too. Doesn't add up to me.

^Totally acceptable. The recordings were not followed by any editing and the drummer is no actual drummer. This was the chosen aesthetic and it speaks to some of us. Technical competency is not the issue here..
