There you go.

Ahhh i see, a true doom elitist. if it aint "true" doom it's shit? hahaha. I like some of the bands on that list, early releases by Katatonia, My Dying Bride, Anathema etc. Not bullshit by far! But each to their own i guess.

Been listning to the last Warning album as of late ( name escapes me at the moment ). Brilliant!!

Where the fuck did I say that I don't like these bands? I think Agalloch are a fantastic band as well as My Dying Bride prior to their third album, but that doesn't mean I support tagging every band which happens to play slower than Kreator "Doom".

Calm down cobber, i took it that when you said nu-metal bullshit then posted a link to those bands you meant they where shit. but as i said, each to there own, no offence was meant. I have not labelled those bands doom either

BLACK SABBATH - "Master Of Reality"
BEDEMON - "Child Of Darkness"
BURNING WITCH - "Crippled Lucifer"
CHURCH OF MISERY - "Early Works Compilation"
ESOTERIC - "Epistemological Despondency"
IRON MAN - "Black Night"
KHANATE - "Things Viral"
PAGAN ALTAR - "(The) Lords Of Hypocrisy"
PENANCE - "Alpha And Omega"
PENTAGRAM - "Day Of Reckoning"
SAINT VITUS - "V"
SOLSTICE - "New Dark Age"
TROUBLE - "The Skull"
WARNING - "Watching From A Distance"
WHILE HEAVEN WEPT - "Sorrow Of The Angels"
WITCHFINDER GENERAL - "Death Penalty"
WORSHIP - "Last Vinyl Before Doomsday"

Just a list of Doom and "Doom"-related bands, because eventually I personally wouldn't file e. g. PAGAN ALTAR, SOLSTICE or -most of all- BLACK SABBATH under Doom, but...just for the sake of it!!

Maybe I'm wrong (and I could care less about that), but I never thought of the traditional doom style bands as doom. I really can't get into that music much at all. It sounds too much like hippy rock music or the stoner style stuff to me. In my eyes, doom is about death and darkness, not about drugs, medieval fantasy topics or whatever else. Anyway, some of my favorites bands include:

Dusk
Evoken
Worship
Thergothon
Esoteric
Winter
Unholy
Skepticism

Stuff along those lines. One of the few traditional style bands I can stand is Candlemass. I haven't heard any of their new stuff, though. I prefer to stick to EDM and Tales of Creation. Yeah, I'm not going to list Nightfall. Most everyone lists that as the best Candlemass album and I'm like, what the fuck is so great about it? There's really nothing on there that stands out above anything on their other top three.

And what the fuck is up with Wormphlegm? I never understood when everyone drools over that band. They kind of reminded me of another gay funeral doom band that dressed in robes like Sunn O))). I think they were called The Funeral Procession or something stupid like that. Both of these bands seem to be putting more work into their stage look and album covers rather than their music.

I didn't know rather to list Winter or not. I've always considered them doom, but every time I list them on a forum the genre police come along and say they're technically sludge metal.

Yea most of the stuff I listed could get pushed towards sludge, but it's all doom as far as I'm concerned.

How about any death influenced doom bands bands? diSEMBOWELMENT and Skepticism are my favorites in this style. There's a newer band combining a similar variety of doom with a more traditional psychedelic edge called A.D.P. from Australia. Check them out, they've released one great demo so far.
