Every DHG album from the debut till 666 International is a classis, SATANIC ART EP being the highlight for me personally.

I could never get into Mayhem's Grand Declaration of War though, it never did anything for me and I think maybe even if I tried to listen to it again today it still wouldn't. 666I was more successful at that extreme avant garde style than pretty much anyone else.

I've had a real difficult relationship with the album myself, but it sounds better to me now than ever before. I've only with recent listens begun to notice the Voivod worship present throughout the material. There's a lot to appreciate once you get over the fact that it's Mayhem.

I was just so disappointed at the time. I thought it was so bad, I just couldn't get over it. I might listen to it again out of curiosity.

The reason I mentioned Traces of Reality is that I thought/hoped that 666 was in that direction. Still sounds like it is worth checking out. I couldn't make it through Supervillain due to the constant chugs replacing the riffs. At the time I blamed it on the absence of Apollyon and Czral.

Edit: as for Mayhem, only the presence of Attila makes me give a shit at all without Euronymous. </kult>

This album is not the worst thing ever but I'm pretty sure Supervillain Outcast is.
