| Those flat-rate international boxes start off at like over $30, I think. |

I hope here're some greeks...
How much would it be to send a package up to 5 KG to Germany ? I assume that's only available as an insured package ? It could also be between 3 and 4 KG, don't know for sure atm. _________________

I would almost kill at this point to be able to fill a flat rate box with vinyl for $30.
I mailed today 21 lps to Germany (parcel weighed just under 13 pounds) and it was $62.50. And of course the flat rate box nowadays does not fit any vinyl.

| Somebody should start a petition for the USPS to make Priority record mailers. |

$37 and they do not fit LPs despite what Andreas/Lyderhorn says. At least my post office will not accept them deformed and cut in any way. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

to the States/worldwide
1 LP -> 8,00€ / ~ $12
2 to 3 LPs -> 12,00€ / ~ $18
1kg to 2kg -> 24,00€ / ~ $35
traceable shipping costs extra 2,05€ / ~ $3
within Europe
1 LP -> 4,50€ / ~ $7
2 to 3 LPs -> 6,00€ / ~ $9
1kg to 2kg -> 14,00€ / ~ $20
*edit* Don't know the postage when the weight raises up over 2kg, guess it will spiralling then, but luckily I've never had to ship sth. that heavy so far. |

Let me explain this the best I can.... MEDIA MAIL has a tendency to make longer routes even if the item is only a couple miles away. I think they do this because they just push all the MEDIA stuff on 1 truck to save money and if it's only going 1 route, your MEDIA package has to take their route and it's not a direct one. It could be a big circle.
I sent a package out from Pittsburgh and it was only going to downtown Pittsburgh, it took 2 weeks to arrive because it went on the truck that went to BOSTON, then back to Pittsburgh... It's their way of saving money cause the postage is so cheap. It's not about them inspecting it, that doesn't take long and it's usually done at your drop off place in the back. _________________ http://store.shadowkingdomrecords.com/ |

I talked with the lady at my post office(she is very helpful) and she says there is a new size flat rat box for international coming soon that might fit vinyl. You should ask at your local post if they have more info. |
That's good to know... I'll be looking foward to seeing if that happens. _________________ http://store.shadowkingdomrecords.com/ |

Also food for thought for some US people shipping.
You can get a FULL refund on a very small percentage of delayed packages. If you use EXPRESS MAIL to JAPAN for instance, they guarantee the date of delivery. If it doesn't arrive on that date or before you get the FULL refund. I know a couple other Asian countries do it too,
but you can forget about EUROPE or SOUTH AMERICA... they won't guarantee anything. _________________ http://store.shadowkingdomrecords.com/ |

In Belgium they've deleted normal mail this week, only priority mail now.
1-3 LP's within Europe: €8,80
1-3 LP's outside Europe: €14,40
If you only have one record to mail out it's actually cheaper to send out the vinyl itself and the cover in seperate packages. Anyway, I'm done with overseas trading, these prices are just too high for me. |

I found the info. March 3rd there is a new flat rate box 12X12X5 for $50 international. I don't think this will help because then you cannot pad the corners of the vinyl. FUCK.....
