Sample the track "Letter XIX":

The academic, apocalyptic black metal unit will premiere its sophomore masterwork - “An Antidote for the Glass Pill” - on deluxe vinyl, CD, and digital formats through us in early 2015. Taking two painstaking years to execute, the seminal work is vast in concept and light years beyond the band's already well-acclaimed debut.

“An Antidote ...” is the ceremonial, liturgical brother of Esoteric and features Greg Chandler (Esoteric's frontman and founding member) on guitar, vocals, and engineering duties. The record is also perhaps the only black metal album in history that features full accompaniment by a professional church pipe organist throughout.

We've been tracking the progress of this album from raw demos to polished finale and can attest that this was an incredible labor-of-love and also a work of painstaking genius. This is the rare kind of album that will actually give you goosebumps.

Very good news indeed. Their debut album is incredible. Now we just need those Archaicus demos reissued on CD.

Glad you guys are enjoying!

This song isn't even the half of it.

The album as a whole is a masterpiece!

That track is phenomenal!! I probably listened to it 10 times today. The atmosphere is so perfect and the pipe organ is incredibly ominous but almost playfully eerie at times. This has definitely become one of my most anticipated releases of this year.

The debut is pretty good, so I will get this.

Admittedly it was partly...mostly, down to Greg's involvement ( Esoteric fanboy) that I checked them out originally. I do remember from years ago the Archaicus stuff being good too though.

The song is pretty interesting. Love Greg's vocals, and some cool riffs. I'm kind of ambivalent about constant church pipe organ throughout. I suppose it adds a theatrical, funeral-doom vibe. Felt the same about it's use on the debut.

I was actually drawn to the group because of Aran's involvement (Lunar Aurora fanboy), however minimal it was/is. Has me wondering if he is still involved? Seeing how this is the only other group he has worked with (outside his solo project, Trist), I figured it had to be worth a shot. I agree that the debut is 'pretty good', but it sounds like they've made great stride with this one so far.

i'm of a similar feeling with the pipe organ-there's a few bands that are ruined by overuse of that accompaniment...profetus for example. Will give it a few listens and see if it grows.Another major esoteric fanboy checkin in ,heh.

That sample is stunning. The ending of that clip is devastatingly heavy.

Really glad people are enjoying this, trust me when I say the album is 3x as good as this already awesome clip.

Aran is not playing on this record, unfortunately, but you won't miss him. Smile

It was just finished a few days ago and layouts are about 3/4 done.

You can really hear the Orpheus similarities (Philosopher of the Sublime), which is great. I do however much prefer Orpheus over this - perhaps the multi-faceted approach to the music is a little too engulfing, though I can certainly see its intricacy being alluring for many.
