It's often used for short print runs since it's a manual printing method. Offset printing usually requires more set up and costs more so it's not economical to do less than 500 copies of anything. Google silkscreen printing to get more information. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

| I like silkscreened sleeves because of they way it looks. The ink used in silkscreening looks more like paint, and because you do it manually, no two copies will be exactly alike, and the paint-like quality/texture of the print combined with the imperfections makes it look really cool, IMO. |

How come not more people are adding to this thread?
Dennis why don't you share with us about German pressing plants and printers? _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

I know that a bunch of Deathstrike Records vinyls were pressed at a place called Eldorado, which is a German pressing plant

I used GZ most of the time. Eldorado is more like Broker for http://www.pallas-group.de/
Where more or less every vinyl in germany getīs manufactured in the end.
I used them only for the NOCTURNAL LP, ETERNAL PAIN/ VICTIMIZER / BETRAYED / FARSCAPE Split LP and 2 7" projects.
An exception is http://www.randmuzik.de/
Where I currently have a 12" in the works. Their communication is great, prices are good and their manufacture the records themselves.
For 7" vinyls I use www.amei.se (located in Hamburg/Germany despite the domain name) lately. Their prices are good, communication could be better, but since this is quite some underground company they didnīt need all those GEMA papers and licensing bullshit you usually need. Turnaround time is quite long though, but prices for small runs and coloured vinyl are unbeatable. |

The best place in Europe for audio tapes = TAPELINE in the UK. Excellent service. Alan, who runs the place, is a great guy who will help you out with all your needs, whether you need blank tapes (ferro or chrome type), or if you need a batch of tapes copied.
I can heartily recommend them.

Not really. 1984 is your best bet for zine printing. Just call them up instead of waiting around for email replies. Most printers prefer to deal over the phone. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

EXCELLENT new screen-printing service: http://seizurepalace.com
run by the main poster printer of Diesel Fuel in Portland, OR (and a good friend of mine). just opened his own shop, really excellent screen printing for posters, LP/7"/CD jackets, art prints, high quality, killer rates. not sure if the site is completely "up" yet, they literally moved into the shop two weeks ago, but are fully operational in-store, so email/call for quotes.
they also can do shirts through Printed Matter, who is in-house, and stickers through https://www.dieselfuelprints.com. Highly recommended for pro screen printing by awesome people.
I go through Bill Smith for vinyl pressing and Aardvark for vinyl mastering. They both do great work, great rates as well. Can also do some pretty weird, specialty vinyl options.
