|
|
The true color of vinyl is clear. Many think black vinyl sounds best when clear vinyl is the best according to the people at GZ. I know because I visited their factory and saw how they color the vinyl. They actually add pigments to make it black. Clear vinyl is actually not exactly clear if you look at it. It has some natural tan-ish tint to it.
So all of you who talk shit about colored vinyl are talking out of their asses. All vinyl is colored except for clear. _________________ Contact: nwnprod@gmail.com

No surprise. I think someone should set up a panel to debunk all the shit the vinyl worshippers pull out their asses and spread on the internet. |

Any mention from the GZ folk about pic discs?
I think clear records are great. Black vinyl too. And those that are commonly refered to as 'coloured' (ie: not black or clear). Long live analog in whichever form it takes! |

I would like to know if there really is a difference between normal discs and picture discs, or if I'm just hearing differences that are not there. |

wonder why they bother dying them black. maybe so it's easier to see the bands. i'd love it if all records were clear or at the very least transluscent. i've always hated white vinyl. seems to get dust stuck in it's grooves more than others although that could just be my imagination. |

Clear vinyl looks nice, but I hate how hard it is to make out which grooved are on which side of the LP with clear vinylz. |

Yosuke you are both right and wrong. Yeah, it is true that all vinyl is clear and has stuff added to make it colored, but I have always heard that the black is NOT JUST black coloring, it actually has graphite in it which (supposedly) makes the vinyl stronger.
The argument that all the anti-colored vinyl people make is that since non-black colors don't have the graphite, they aren't as strong, so they will wear out faster.....which somehow means they sound worse.
Either way, Im with Yosuke on this, people who don't like colored vinyl and die-hards and all that are a bunch of crybaby douche bags. |

Pic LPs are just clear vinyl that have a decal on them. They can actually sound worse depending on how they are made, if they are done right they shouldnt sound any different than a regular black vinyl. |
