No shit, this must be the most overlooked band ever when it comes to dm. Nearly flawless discography and terrific live experience. I can't seem to get enough of Sorcery, In the arms of devastation and the mlp, but even Heaven's Venom is a merciless monster of pure death/thrash aggression. Anyone else here with a soft spot for them?

Sylvain Houde material is amazing but the band went to shit when he left with the exception of the one or two songs on a couple of albums but nothing really worth mentioning and the last two albums were really bad.

It's really shitty the way other members treated Sylvain when he had his breakdown they were suppose to be his friends and they just turned their backs on him. He is one one of the best vocalists / frontmen of all time.

Hopefully he manages to get his new band together someday.

I like everything by Kataklysm, except for the newest album Heaven's Venom.

Terrible band, I cannot stand them. They are a boring version of everything which I didn't enjoy in early Deicide.

Everything up to and including Temple of Knowledge was great. Not so much the later stuff.

Everything up to Temple of Knowledge is excellent. Then without Sylvain Houde it's all mediocre. Victims of this Fallen world is especially bad.

I saw them on the same tour and it still is my all-time favourite show. There was approximately 30 people in the club, but Kataklysm still absolutely killed it.
Right from the opening of Sorcery to the end, the whole experience was spine-tingling.

Kataklysm has never fully recovered since Sylvain left.

Flawless discography? The Houde era is some of my favorite death metal but that victims of this fallen world album is terrible. Prophecy was ok sounds like it could have come between Temple of knowledge and Victims.

Don't really like what they became post Temple.

Yeah they say that in the documentary on the new DVD they went from playing in front of an average of 800 people a night on their first tour in Europe which was only half the capacity of some of the venues (the kataklysm guys were giving out that it was only half full) to playing to only a handful of people every night on their next tour which was in the US.
