I went through a bottle of that Smokehead a couple years ago. Nice stuff.

Not pretty, at all, but at least they're out of the barn that they've been in for the last 8 or 9 months.

Nice globe and club armchair !
i've spotted a globe in the same kind... I guess it will be mine soon...

What liquors does it hide ?

Now THAT is a nice room. I'm renovating my house at the moment - plan is when I move back in to shift the painting gear out of where it lives now and have the space as an old-school den kind of room. That shot gives me some inspiration (to have shots!)

That's fuckin' embarrasing dude Rolling Eyes. Being broke/thrifty is one thing, but being lazy is another matter entirely. No offense, but this pic reeks of the latter. I think we live both in VA--save up a little $$, send me a PM, supply gas/beer for the day and wood etc, and we'll build some shelves that at least do your collection justice.

edit: I am drunk so if my post sounds hateful, it's not meant to be... just saying that an afternoon of work can transform a tableful of boxes into something that looks sweet.

Ha, well hopefully this is highly temporary since I just moved. My last set of shelves fell apart, and I've been more lazy/apprehensive about driving over to Woodbridge VA to buy an Expedit.

Fuck expedits. Build your own. My offer stands indefinitely--if you wanna save some cash, tailor shelves to your preferences (ie have a choice between making flip-bins or 'spines out' shelves), want help and can supply gas/beer, shoot me a PM. 'Til then, I hope your table doesn't buckle.

Great room, but what's going on in the top right corner there? Doesn't look safe.

Excellent stuff indeed! I've got one of these right now. It reminded me a bit of Smokehead.

Wolfram, great room. I need to create a nice listening corner for myself as well.
That pope Benedict XVI picture is a nice touch! Very Happy

I remember Captain Retard's post about cramming records together to place them as vertical as possible. You lads don't seem to care.

My question is, does it matter?

I don't like it when the records are too tight in the shelves, because I cannot browse through them properly.

I used to store my records just loose enough to get them out of the shelf and kept them as vertical as possible. It was serious pain in the ass (and back) to add new purchases in there. During those years, none of my records got twisted. Now as I got this new shelf, I wonder what's the best option. Recommendations and tips are most welcome! After posting my pic, I placed my records like Acid Orgy. At least this way it divides the weight as two lighter ones rather than being just as one heavy stack.

I tried to store as tight as possible, but first of all it really is a pain in the ass to add something or even look through (you have to take out about 10 records to browse through) and it simply doesn't work because I store by genre and I don't have enough Jazz records for example.
