4 Hands Warhammer Imperial IPA, the single greatest brew my city can offer, has finally made its seasonal appearance.

I see several pints and a Savage Grace LP spinning in my immediate future.

Hail spring!

How's cider in other parts of Europe or in North America? I only managed to taste sugary chemical stuff in cans or small bottles, like Bullmers or whatever it is called. The only natural cider I've tasted outside France was some in a food fair in Poznan and the makers didn't really got their recipe right.

Most of the ciders in Finland are really far from natural, hence;
Do you have links to any producers' sites/online shops in France (or in Europe) that;
a) has a decent selection of French ciders
and possibly also
b) ship abroad?
So far I've only managed to find these;

http://www.calvados-boutique.com/en/5-cider
I'm going to order some soon and would like to have a selection of different ciders/producers in the batch if possible.

Well, I never buy online but only from my local shops or some addresses when visiting a town and where I find a good selection of products. Or some addresses/names provided by my father.

Anyway, the two links you've found seem legit. I just hope the bottles won't be broken or stolen while in transit.

A good producer I know is the following one:

http://www.theo-capelle.com/bienvenue.php

His Calvados is top class. Any order must be made through e-mail so I doubt they accept credit/debit card orders. But there's a list of distributors in his page,, under the link Partenaires.

Oh, avoid like the plague the wine distributor 1855.com and his derivatives. They had many problems in the past and probably still have.

This one was the first time for me too, when it comes to buying alcohol online.
I don't drink much or often, so I thought that it doesn't really bankrupt me, if I spend little bit more once in a while. More, because the postage was pretty bad.
Thanks for the advices!

Ordered spirits online quite a bit and only once came across defective packaging that resulted in a broken bottle of Dalwhinnie 15 and the best smelling cardboard box. This was like four years ago and some of the other bottles still smell, heh. The cat is still alive though.

Really been digging the American brews we regularly import to the UK lately. I'm a big fan of Flying Dog and Left Hand.

Tonight, though, is about St. Austell's 1913 stout, followed by a glass or two of Penderyn.

No doubt the Yanks are making some of the world's best beer at the moment.

I've been leaning towards some English bitters though recently. Happy to sit around drinking without getting poleaxed or facing palate fatigue.

From Dark Lord Day:

3 X Three Floyds/Surly/Real Ale Blakkr Black IPA
12 x Three Floyds Dark Lord (2014) Russian Imperial Stout
2 x Three Floyds Backmasking Oatmeal stout *artwork by Mark Riddick
Three Floyds Barrel aged Dark Lord variant: The Earl of Biggleswade
Three Floyds Barrel Aged Darl Lord variant: Vanilla bean

had a complete blast at this event! On top of the beer above, I got to try a lot of other great brews. Either from people standing in line kind enough to pass around what they brought or from one of the beer tents. So much awesome beer being drank from all around the world. It was a treat in and of itself to look at all the empties on the ground. You would see some of your favorites, some beers you've always wanted to try, some beers you had never seen but look awesome. Literally from the 4 corners of the US and around the world. I hope I have the opportunity to go back next year.
