Jester King Black Metal Russian Imperial Stout

Despite the kitschy name and artwork this beer and everything else I've had from the brewery has been pretty good

I had a bottle of this recently over here and was really impressed by the beer; a rich, complex Imperial Stout with loads of character. It's nothing like Guiness.

I randomly find Jester King here in New England, but unfortunately it's never Black Metal.

Good find! Jester King is located right here in Austin, Texas. I've got an empty bottle of the Black Metal up for display on my fridge currently; I couldn't resist, it was just too goofy. It was better back when it was a seasonal brew (winter only, of course Twisted Evil) but now they do it year round, if I'm not mistaken.

I think Dogfish Head does a Death Metal and a Thrash Metal brew as well, for those of you who are perhaps looking to complete your beer metal collection... Laughing

Bell's Hopslam Imperial IPA
Surly Darkness Imperial Russian Stout

Darkness was a bitch to find. Hopefully I can score another bottle before it dries up from everywhere.

Andersonville Wine and Spirits. First time I had been in there. Actually a pretty nice little bottle shop!

Nice to see appreciation for malts here too. You have some pretty good choice for whisky retailers as well as reasonable pricing in The Netherlands so kudos Smile

Mikkeller - Barrel Aged Tequila/Whisky - 18,8%

That was something.

Is it good? My nearby store has had bottles of that for a while and it's tempting. I find Mikkeller to 50/50 in terms quality, but at least they are almost always interesting and different.

I had the new American Trappist beer, Spencer. The monks are local to my area and they have been making great fruit preserves for years. The beer did not disappoint. Spicy, clove, banana, with a higher carbonation than expected. Great with food.

Yes it's good, but definitly not something to drink alone. At least 3 people on the bottle, to preserve the taste.
