America seems to be a cool place for a wide variety of beer. Plenty of metal looking stuff as well! Over here american beer has normally been associated with the likes of Bud and Coors, though that has changed a bit the last few years and you can get some American craft beer now but not everywhere.
My local shops have little or nothing exciting. This beer is well known in the UK and I have had to fall back on a few from the local supermarket tonight. Its more than decent.
Also killer, easily obtainable in Scotland but a bit rarer in rest of UK is this 9th century Pictish heather ale....

Yes it is. You can find it here fairly easily. It's been a while since I've had it,but I remember that it wasn't all that great. _________________ May all the world forget you ever stood, and the whole world regret you did no good. |

Goat's beer from the village next to mine! Better from tap than from a bottle though. |

Picked up some Stella Artois for Blasphemy worship. This stuff isn't as good as I remember it being. Pretty thin.
So now I'm drinking Fighting Cock Bourbon. I bet they don't sell this shit in Russia. _________________

some old "long trail" IPAS in my fridge from a few weeks ago that i forgot about, and Some "original sin" hard cider my gal left over last night.
I Was tempted to try that hobgoblin stuff and some other evil looking beers when i was at the store last night but they were expensive and I really don't have a taste for the finer stuff, i usually get the 4$ six-pack or make cheap whiskey sours out of Canadian mist or whatevers the cheapest. I clearly havent been 21 for that long. |

Really? I've been looking for it and I'm in the midwest too. I'll have to hunt around. Never expected it to be available. _________________

It's really drinkable, very moreish. From my limited experience of american craft beer you guys like big, complex flavours and high alcohol strength making it difficult to have more than a few.
We like to session here in this part of the world, skull back the pints. I imagine you would find British beer quite 'tame' in comparison to some of your stuff. |

As an American I find most non-American/German/Belgian beers to be pretty weak. Not saying that's always the case. But for example I was at a bar that gets beers from all over the world last week and ordered an IPA from Spain and one from Scotland and they were both tasted like pilsners to me.
But I wonder if I'm over doing it. I notice a lot of local breweries are getting tired of brewing intense beers and are experimenting with more balanced, English styles.
That being said, Maine Beer Company (my favorite brewer) has a new beer out and it's a fucking killer 9% winter double IPA. Buy it if you find it.
