A couple of Port Wine bottles I bought in Portugal during my last stay. 2000 and 2007 were the latest two exceptional vintages.
I will enjoy the Niepoort one sometime in the near future. The Graham’s will be kept in my cellar for a later tasting, within four or five years. _________________ Never, ever, never trust a Klingon.

Today for lunch with my wife:
Abbaye de Valmagne, Cuvée de Turenne, a great wine from Languedoc, a fine organic wine, not that expensive for the quality (13 € here)
Liqueur de chataîgne (chestnut liquor), from the local distillery Jean Gauthier, with just enough sugar to be sweet but still be tasteful

| Just finished a Manhattan, and now into the Fullers 1845, one of the only commercially available versions of a so-called burton ale. I am generally not a fan of Fullers' beers, but this one is really nice. |

just this past Friday a new BevMo! opened up in Tracy. Hands down the best one I've ever been to in terms of selection and even the staff was knowledgeable. Came out of there with a staple favorite in Old Raspy and two hop bombs I've never tried in DH 90 Minute and SN Hoptimum. Decided to take a snap of the fridge instead of the new stuff only.

well, inside the fridge, yes haha. As you can see they've all got a nice chill. I'm opting to age my stout bombers though so they're sitting in a closet downstairs until I figure out a better cellaring solution. _________________ ALL SHIRTS MUST GO: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17489 |

Isn't beer meant to be drunk cold? _________________ Scrutare et vide quia propheta a Galilaea non surgit! |

soft leger yes. But not strong beer / belgian beer / brown beer. Cave temperature is the best.
Taste is not at its best when the beer is too cold. _________________ Sale list (Burzum, DTL, Sunn O))), Darkthrone, Abruptum, Windir, Hellfest, Shining, Fissur, ...) : http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=710004#710004

I'm drinking the wonderful "Glögg" they sell in Sweden this time of year.
Basically the same thing as German "Glükwein" (heard it's actually Glüwein and that it is only in Berlin they spell it with a k) _________________ Todays modern science is your modern religion. |

yeah I agree with this. It's too much of an inconvenience for me to get really involved with controlling the temperature for different kinds of beers. I just keep them all at a high chill and let them warm up to the right temp outside of the fridge when I decide to drink one. _________________ ALL SHIRTS MUST GO: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17489 |

| Try pounding a warm Hoptimum. Tastes like rum practically. Chill that shit along with any other IPA. The rasp, narwhal and guinness gotta be room temperature though. |

Fuck yeah! I didn't think Torpedo could be topped, but then that came out.
I have that Narwhal right now. Really tasty stuff. The Old Rasputin is my stand by stout though. _________________ Trade/Sale List

it's generally agreed that stouts are best taken warmer than you would a PA or lager, but I dunno about room temp. Maybe for specific food pairings, but on the regular I take mine at a typical tap cool. Raspy on nitro is the business.
I'm probably gonna try to keep Narwhal stocked as often as Raspy. Totally unexpected killer of an IS. Speaking of Sierra Nevada, I need to get some of that Celebration Ale. _________________ ALL SHIRTS MUST GO: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17489 |
