There seems to be a re-emergence of death metal lately, and some of these bands are extremely good.
-Alioth
-Blessed Offal
-Ignivomous
-Dead Congregation
-Sacriphyx
-Shaarimoth
-Helcaraxe
+ a few others.
I’m interested in hearing/knowing about some more GOOD new death metal bands, especially in the darker, mid-tempo style of Rotting Christ (+ other Greek bands), Acheron, Cemetary, (old) Morbid Angel, Asphyx and so on.
Apologies if this has been posted, I didn’t see a thread like this in the forum search.

Verminous (probably my fav. Swedish death metal in recent years)
Repugnant (everyone knows this already)
Nominon (older stuff is better) _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

| New Nominon is pretty good from what I heard. DGR just released the new CD, how is it? |

I didn't like it at all.
Check out Verminous. I think you can still get the CD from several distros in the US. I'll try to trade for it with Xtreme Music from Spain. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

I agree.
http://www.myspace.com/nominon . Listen to "Among The Beasts & Ancient Slumber", Swe-Death in the best tradition. |

I didn't like the Anatomia too much, but the Transgressor stuff is fucking awesome. Has more of a doom sound in some parts which is my thing.
I didn't like the new Nominon, either. I tried to get into some of their older material as well, but it didn't happen. Repugnant is probably my favorite from all the lists here. Besides that, the new Funebrarum/Interment (not new bands) split is great. The Funebrarum stuff isn't as good as "Beneath the Columns...", but the material still kicks ass. Especially the Grave cover.
The more I listen to the newer bands, I just want to pull out my early nineties stash. As hard as these bands try, nothing will ever top the classics from that era. |

| All of the Death Metal acts off of Blood Harvest/Zombie Ritual that haven't been mentioned yet, Revokation, Deathevokation, Stargazer, and most of what's already been mentioned. |
