I used to have the Ulver shirt in color. It didn't have the text at the bottom or the back print though. Just the logo and color cover on the front.

Couldn't someone print the desired shirts, give some to the band for free and sell the rest to friends for cheap - technically it's still a bootleg but at least it's a genuine want to own the shirt and not getting rich from it. Thoughts?

Personally I'm sure that I have bought several bootleg shirts throughout the years from various sources. I've never been disatisfied as the customer, never gave it much thought as to the right or wrong of it where the band ownership of the content was concerned though either. Actually if the band cannot make merch available themselves, then I consider them at fault for lack of interest and thus the bootlegger is already justified in providing and meeting a demand. Confused

I think it would be tasteless to run a serious business orientated system where profit was going to be made via a bands copyrighted content. However I find myself thinking the bootleg would not be that big a deal as a small respectful personal interest (of course to make it worth the cost of printing you have to do more than one) and then sell the others at cost just to share a great shirt design with other fanatical fans seems more like a respectful fan/hero worship thing to do than a nasty stab at stealing money from the band etc etc

Turns out it would be approx. some $720 to print that two sided Mortuary Drape shirt. That was at a run of 24 units. 6 color design etc etc.

$30 a shirt at cost. No wonder people want to do pre-ordering sales. Razz

Yea, watch out for one color white ink on black DIY underground black metal shirts to flood ebay completely soon. ...with the comparable quality of someone transferring vinyl audio to tape openly across a room from speaker to microphone. ...and calling it a limited rarity. Wink

I have one of these. I've only printed a few t-shirts with it but they're of fairly good quality, and all of the fuck ups are mostly my own doing. The ink is nice and hasn't faded at all either.

Of course basic screen printing can be even more primitive and still be very high quality. You can really make most of that stuff yourself, although it's extremely labor intensive. Even this home screen printing kit is a shitload of work to use, which is what is going to stop too many people from using it.

I've generally found DsO shirts to be quite boring lately.

This is what I would like to see released...
