what do you do when you have releases twice (1st Press + Reissue with Bonus) do you keep them both or woule sell the first press then?

e.g. Naglfar VITTRA, reissues have exclusive bonus tracks, nothing remastered etc. so im thinking about selling the first press with 3 lett tracks.

I've sold a few first presses when I got the represses - NWN titles that come to my head: sold original OFC cd and Conqueror LP when the CDs were released on NWN. I really only own doubles and triples of real classic heavy metal stuff - all Sabbath, King Diamond/MF on cd, LP and tape. Even though I rarely listen to the tapes, I can't see myself selling em off.

Depends a lot on various matters. In most cases the reissue/remaster/rewhatever has something done wrong which means that the original will stay.

Depends a lot. Straight up reissue, no remaster, no change in the presentation of the record, etc, except that there's now more songs? I'd probably get that and then just keep both. Bad remaster, bad presentation (such as the blown up CD artwork on some vinyl reissues that looks just god-awful), CD master thrown onto a vinyl record, etc, is not getting bought, regardless of how much killer material comes with it.

This. Even if the reissue is the same, I'd probably keep the original out of nostalgia/horder mentality. Laughing

I gladly take that "Vittra" 1st press off your hands whenever you decide to sell it.

I've got a buddy who buys every version of certain records. Like Thergothon's demo, for instance. If you bootleg a version of that demo, even onto a CD-r and hand-draw the J-card he'll buy it off of you.

Then I will create a Thergothon release every day to cover my living from your buddy's spendings. Pls PM me his contact.

I can't let you exploit his obsession. Because I have legitimately witnessed him buy two copies of the same bootleg, from the same bootlegger.

I would never sell an original in favor of a reissue. If the reish is noteworthy then I'll just keep them both.

It's very rare that bonus material is worth a fuck so I just stick with originals if I have them.

If the reissue contains an extra LP of material (like with BOB Venom reissues), then get it and keep both. 1st pressing is nice to have. If it's just a few more tracks, I'd DL them and not bother with reissue unless it's a top favourite album.

I've sold some first pressings and bought a good repress and something else with it. Sometimes first press is actually superior, and then I'm not going to sell it. Remastering is one of those things which might fuck up new presses. It really depends on the case.
