SORROW was a fantastic death/doom/thrash band. Their debut album is one of my all-time faves in the genre. Yeah, they look funny but the music was more serious.

I've always liked them musically, but I've never been able to get over how goofy some of their lyrics are. It wouldn't be so bad if the singer wasn't completely audible, but you can pretty clearly make out all the words when he says stuff like:

Human Error wrote:
True freedom of speech
Occurs when all ideas
Are given equal viewing
To the general public

...Sounds like something out of a legal document. Or even worse:

Separative Adjectives wrote:
Prejudice, does this word apply to you?
Categories, most likely to be friends
With someone just like You
Are you a human, or do you rely on
Separative adjectives?

Words
Say what you mean
Mean what you say

Hatred, afraid to accept
People different from You
Afraid to rethink
Your own values

I don't know, the lyrics are clumsy and painfully leftist to me.

Rings a bell:

Verse:
pl planets interact with radiation
at deeper atmospheric layers
and, since re-radiation happens
slowly at these heights,
they will have low
temperature contrasts in longitude.
Dynamical mechanisms
will be able to distribute heat
efficiently at these timescales.

Chorus:
Notation comes from similarity
with L dwarfs. Main absorbers
in pl planets
are H2O, Na and K.

The lyricist is all for freedom of speech, then bashes racists? HUH? Reeks of the typical leftist thought policing. Now, someone post more funny band pics to get this back on topic!

Serious question, were they really ever cool? I was too young to remember.

Were they ever cool ? Well, Adrian Smith rocked a wicked mullet during the "Somewhere in Time" - "Seventh Son..." period. What more proof do you need ?

They're some screaming and syncopation away from being mid-period Schuldiner lyrics.

That doesn't follow. Just because you're entitled to your opinion and free right to speak it doesn't mean that I can't comment on or criticize what you say. As long as they're not pushing legislation to PREVENT you from saying it, that's not thought policing - it's regular ol' arguing.

Anyway back to topic: how has Sabbat's leather diaper not appeared yet?

I think the Marduk one wins. There's some footage of Vikernes spreading his prison goods in a rehearsal room with Old Funeral. Maybe that wins for "Most Embarassing Band Video".

Euro mooned the crowd at that one '86 Mayhem gig with Maniac. No shit-stained dildo included though.

Beherit has never taken a bad band picture. FACT. Not even the shots of DJ Gamma G riding a bike.
