Can anyone recommend me bands similar to the first album of Argentum (Mexico) - Ad Interitum Funebrarum, means I search for exotic dark Doom-Death Metal with Flamenco guitars? By the way, what happens to this band after their weaker second album?

Try Murder Rape - And Evil Returns & Holy Death - Triumph of Evil. I remember being way into those when I was listening to that Argentum record a lot...

Can someone post pics from ARGENTUM 1st CD era? The band images on the back of the CD looks killer! Great CD!

On topic: I don't know any other bands in this style. Hope to read some recommendations here!

Weaker second album? Never. It is different, yes, but on it's own a masterpiece. And with a better production.
Still the first one needs a re-issue ith a better sound.

I have the second album on vinyl, as well as an original "Full Moon Productions" (latex) promo poster of the first one to sell. In case anyone might be interested, drop me a PM.

Thanks for your replies guys, the two bands you have mentioned comes close, when it comes to the sound, but are not on the same technical level. "All the witches dance" from Mortuary Drape have the closest guitar tunes and atmosphere in my opinion, but maybe you have more bands in that style or bands that just uses flamenco guitars? Dont´t get me wrong, I like their second outbut too, but the songs are more keyboard orientated then the ones on their Demos or the first album. Some old pics would be great to see here Smile

Vital Remains 'Forever Underground' has a considerable amount of classic/flamenco styled guitars, though I question how puritanical that appraisal is. Also 'Trivne Impvrity Rites' by Necros Christos should fit the bill if the acoustic guitars are what you're looking for.

For shure I know Vital Remains and Necros Christos are in use of those classical guitars and I really can enjoy both bands, although thanks a lot for your help. I am not puritanical at all with my request, I am glad for any references to my topic even if a band plays not metal at all Smile

Try Eibon from Singapore and their The Garden Of Theophrastus CD. Very similar to the early Argentum stuff. Appears every now and then on ebay for $10.

Argentum's first album is beyond amazing. Did it ever get a vinyl release?

No. Only a 76min long CD, which requires a 2-LP, but would leave space for the first demo and an extra Die Hard 11" with the second demo.

Eibon and the two Tenebrarums, nearly forgot about those ancient bands, thanks for reminding me, just checking my tapes, if I can find something Smile I think the first album from Argentum was never released in Lp format, didn´t it? But would be killer if someone ever will do in the future Smile
