Sorry for the next paypal-topic...

Since the 1st of December I couldn't pass through a single paypal-payment over my credit card. Be it an ebay-auction or a normal transaction. That was my usual way of paying since opening of my account in 2002. I always receive a shitty error message that "credit card bank declines".

Question to paypal delivered a bullshit answer of course without sense.

The interesting point is: Not even the method of allowing paypal to take the money directly from my bank account is working. It also gives an error message. However, after 10 try-outs, the 11th try-out worked. But then again the next payment didn't work anymore.

The only point I got from the bullshit paypal answer: Use the method to transfer money to the account (takes 3-4 working days) for paying an auction/non-ebay payment. That is a killer, because then I can use SWIFT inside the EU and except for buyer's protection (which is bullshit anyhow) there is no other advantage of paypal anymore left.

=> anyone else experienced trouble with payments over Credit Card (or for Germany, the "Lastschriftverfahren") ??

i think all stuff besides merchants who work with their system and
ebay self are now over bank transfer. Think about it, it takes 3.5 days
till you have the money on your pp account. from this they have 1-2 days
the money for themselves Wink

The direction of the answer is clear for me. To use this system so that they can play sort of a bank instead of just a transfer-station with fees. But then they should skip the other options totally and not offer them (as choosing them results in error messages and curses...).

Paypal IS a Bank, not a Money Transfer Organisation Wink

And its the same like ebay, its better in this way, when the customers
think, they can do it, than to make all disabled, so that they would
went away.

And if you play their game, work with their system in a Shop or
Mailorder, you can use this functions. For example is no problem to
pay money to HHR.

Am I reading correctly that direct payments are no longer allowable via Paypal unless you have money in your account?

Paypal IS NOT a bank, and they don't want to be one because otherwise control and reglementation over them would be much more severe.

PayPal is a loan shark except without hired goons to come break your legs.

On May 15, 2007, PayPal announced that it would move its European operations from the UK to Luxembourg, commencing July 2, 2007 as PayPal (Europe) S. r.l. & Cie, S.C.A.[32] This would be as a Luxembourg entity regulated as a bank by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), the Luxembourg equivalent of the FSA.[33] PayPal Luxembourg will then provide the PayPal service throughout the European Union (EU).

paypal is till 2 years a bank and from that point this stuff like money
washing and such began also Wink

At least I myself can't currently pay over credit-card, and can't chose Lastschriftverfahren (worked once out of 11 tries). I will write now one more email (gace already feeback about the "help" with my original question) so I hope I get a human looking into the case.

Not sure if this helps or not. However if you have a credit card expire and thats the one linked for instant payment... you end up waiting. Paypal needs an active credit card for instant payment function to work, otherwise they withdraw from bank account and that takes a few days. 5 -7 from when this happened to me.

Watch the credit card expiry, update when neccessary. Razz

I'm curious to see what happens to you, as a friend of mine over here has had a virtually identical problem.

I can't use "Lastschriftverfahren" since 1-2 years anymore, only exceptions are using a store like NWN's or ebay. I dont know why.
