I bought a handful of their split tapes on wholesale with the label for my distro, but I won't receive them for another week or so, now I can't wait to hear it. I've heard nothing but good promises, and their myspace stuff is amazing.

Does the band have contacts, or is myspace the best method to reaching them?

Do you have a mailing list? I'd definitely order one from you, I noticed your site is down.

The only annoying thing with myspace that I see, is that all weak lame shitgays start their own sucky pussybands and create a myspace and then all of a sudden some lame sucky pusslabel signs them.

I agree. Pretty good stuff but nothing too exciting.

But to answer your question: no, I am not "to true for myspace", I just think that most people are depending on fucking internet too much, especially myspace.

As someone else said, welcome to 2009. Otherwise kill your internet connection and continue living in the past.

But referring to some points he´s simply right. I mean, you have the possibility to get to know a SHITLOAD of bands right away, yeh? But in the end it seems all a bit' soulless for me from time to time, if you use it the false way you simply overlook the greatness of some bands by not listening enough times to it....it simply isn´t this "i buy one LP per month and listen to it until i hear the song structures struggling my mind even while takin a crap", you know.
And i sometimes tend to miss this obscure feeling towards metal, now when it´s available to EVERY dick. Sounds pathetic one might say, but fuck that. I grew tired reading comments on Youtube on for example Pentagram saying "it´s really cool shit while ridin the half pipe i´ve gotta say, yooh!".. Laughing

Ah, what the fuck, check the following ones out and leave some comments cause they´re all friends of mine, except of Occvlta:

Division Speed - Speed Metal done the traditional way, of course
( http://www.myspace.com/divisionspeed )

Evil Warriors - Black/Thrash who actually doesn´t sound lame and like 909902340924 times heard already, has something unique and maniacal:
http://www.myspace.com/evilwarriorsfromhell

OCCVLTA- weird blackened Doom/Death with a huge Frost-Vibe:
http://www.myspace.com/behindthefire

Sanctifying Ritual
http://www.myspace.com/sanctifyingritual666
Nice Death Metal.

It certainly makes it easier to get heard, sure, but otherwise the bitching grows from the rosey retrospect of people still bitterly locked in time. Good bands thrive regardless of platform, and scene politics can't stop Myspace from being a tool for both great and utterly shite bands to promote their music.

mescalin massacre - hallucinogenic instrumental black metal. quite reminiscent of old thorns riff-wise. debut tape liquid.soma.death is available via genickschuss eucharistie, great stuff, great packaging well worth the five bucks.

NO online samples available, I think.

yeah, pretty horrible this internet. all these labels getting their information out, all these bands easily reaching their audiences, all these idiot fans talking about their favorite bands on forums, wheelin' and dealin' via email and paypal. the powers of the print media and the big labels weakened, they no longer define so strongly what the relevant bands might be for you thanks to review sites, zines and again, forums of like-minded fans. not to speak of all the bands even the truest of the true never would have heard of were it not for clicking some link. and lastly the internet is such a great place for complaining about how much the internet sucks, because even online some need to be truer than others.

no offense to you funeral.vomit, just a random rant. I just never got the 'the internet is so awful' thing. save for the downloading of albums it seems like a win-win situation for music, bands, labels, fans. and even the effects of downloading could probably be discussed. more exposure vs. loss in royalties etc.

a great new band:

Rituals of the Oak
http://www.myspace.com/ritualsoftheoak

aussie Doom Metal with female vocals of the good kind.

sure there are benefits to the internet and we have all grown accustomed to it, but you are a fool to think that there arent consequences that may ultimately outdo any gains we may have thus far received. i am in agreement that myspace is overutilized and is a poor means of presenting a bands music. i wish more bands would just set up their own websites. myspace forces bands to have a specific internet aesthetic. having said that, i of course do use myspace to check out new bands, but i always prefer it wehn the band has a site from which you can download a track or something.

it's hard to think that anybody would take a myspace or a website for the final thing. to me it's merely an easy way to get a hold of some samples, preferably high bitrate mp3s. if those put me off I'm not interested, no matter how fancy or ghey the website/myspace is. one real downside I see is what others have mentioned: crappy bands that maybe fit a certain aesthetic get signed by uncritical crappy labels. but that's not too much of a problem to me. plenty of good labels around at the moment.
