our very own nonwave drums for burmese

farthest thing from sludge. atypical grindy stuff with an experimental edge.

like the amazing probert sez, i've played one of the 2 drumsets in burmese for the last two years. the current lineup is two bass guitars, two drummers and a female singer who does extreme vocals. the band has been around since '98.

i don't actually recommend the split with fistula as a starting point - that thing was sort of tossed off in a hurry and it's not a good representation of burmese at its best. it might be my least favorite burmese recording other than "white", the whitehouse tribute cd/lp.

"Men", "Colony Collapse Disorder" 10" and the upcoming studio album are the best things so far . . . basically some kind of weird hybrid of Swans, early Napalm Death and Whitehouse. in the last few years we've been doing more unison blast beat stuff with both drummers and a lot of weird structures that are short, violent and primitive.

after that, both tumult releases are pretty good. a lot of the splits and stuff don't really make a lot of sense out of context, but i'm going to put them all on a cd next year . . . all of the in-print releases are available through www.ugEXPLODE.com
